It's true, it takes a bit of effort and Power Flow is an awesome class to work on that ❤️

Nothing crazy, just continuous movement to get your heart rate going and your muscles working

You might think Sonja could always just do stuff like this, but the truth is, she works really hard to be able to do arm balances and one of the places she does that is in a Power Yoga Class that she loves to share with other people!

Thursday mornings at 9.20am - 10.05am

It's not that the class involves doing these poses, but that Sonja has you doing lots of repetitive movements that strengthen your body for it.

One of the hardest things to do when you're balancing on your arms is lifting a leg up and that's where the work comes in. I'd say that's a ten out of ten in terms of leg placement 🙌

Come have fun getting strong through a powerful yoga class.

We're going to check what everyone's heart rate is at tomorrow, so bring a smart watch if you have one!

Anchors, supports... It's so important to find one that suits you. Find out what it looks like to use one for your practice.

If you fancy giving Mindfulness a try, then there are two sessions for you this month
1. Mindfulness Meditation group. Sept 19, 12.15PM. Informal group where we explore a guided meditation, have a chat, ask questions. Link: https://www.myyoga.place/service-page/mindfulness-meditation?referral=service_list_widget (this session is pay what you can)

2. Mindfulness and Art workshop. A fun workshop where we combined guided meditation with exploratory art. We're diving into the autumn theme this month with stencils, natural materials, and a whole load of things to experiment with. No experience required for either of these.

In a few weeks I’ll be guiding a new 8‑week mindfulness course, so I’ve been revisiting the practices, the teachings, and—most importantly—my own lived experience with them. One of the first things we explore is autopilot: that very human tendency for the mind to do its own thing without asking permission.

Sometimes autopilot is helpful. If someone chucks a ball at your face, you want your body to react before you’ve even had time to think.
But when something causes irritation, hurt, or frustration… that’s where mindfulness becomes a game‑changer.

It teaches you to notice the moment you’ve slipped into reaction.
That tiny flicker of awareness is the doorway.
Pause.
Breathe.
Choose how you want to proceed.

What action supports your wellbeing—and the wellbeing of everyone involved?

Will it happen perfectly every time? Of course not. We’re gloriously human.
But maybe it happens when it matters.

PS: Reminder that I have a regular community mindfulness group that's open to anyone and is pay what you can. The next one is on the 19th of September.
