Today, managers and Wellbeing Coordinators from across CHD Living’s care centres, rehabilitation centres, and Care at Home services came together for a dedicated wellbeing workshop.

Led by the senior leadership team, the session focused on the vital role wellbeing plays in enhancing the lives of those we support.

We were also delighted to welcome David Annand from Adopt a Grandparent, who shared insights into the charity’s incredible work, the positive impact it has on care home residents, and the meaningful connections it helps create.

Helen, our Head of Communications and Transformation, delivered an engaging workshop on storytelling, consent, and the responsible use of social media, before Tracy Lazell (regional manager) concluded the day with an interactive session highlighting how small actions can make a big difference to wellbeing within our homes.

A valuable day of learning, collaboration, and sharing ideas to help us continue delivering outstanding care and support.

“Mental health matters every day, and so does kindness in care. This Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re reminded to look out for one another and create a place where everyone feels truly valued, supported, and heard. Together, we make a difference in someone’s life!” - Krasi Petrova, Manager at Crest Lodge Care Centre

At CHD Living, we see what sits behind those words.

We see the relief when someone begins to feel safe again after weeks of uncertainty. The courage it takes to stand, walk or try again after illness. The comfort a familiar routine can bring to someone living with dementia. The pressure families carry when they are making decisions for someone they love. The emotional weight our team members can hold while giving so much of themselves to others.

Mental Health Awareness Week gives us a moment to recognise all of that.

Across our care homes, care at home, rehabilitation and complex care services, and our specialist mental health home, Crest Lodge, mental wellbeing is part of daily life. It is in the welcome someone receives. The time taken to understand what is worrying them. The patience shown on a difficult day. The encouragement that helps confidence return, slowly and in its own time.

Crest Lodge caters specifically to those with mental health needs and is home to a wonderful team that focuses on delivering professional care with respect and dignity. For CHD Living, Creating Happiness Daily means helping life feel a little steadier, a little safer and a little more connected.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we are thinking about everyone whose wellbeing is shaped by care: residents, clients, families and the team members who support them every day.

Because feeling understood can change everything.

CHD Living is proud to share that our Assistant Psychologists, Bipana and Marta, presented yesterday at the Spring 2026 British Neuropsychological Society Conference.

They presented their poster on a clinical audit on patient engagement in neurorehabilitation across our two services - Kingston Rehabilitation Centre and Bagshot Park Neurorehabilitation - sharing valuable insights into engagement levels and opportunities to further enhance rehabilitation practice.

The day was a fantastic opportunity to contribute to discussions within the wider neuropsychology community and to highlight the ongoing work being delivered across our services.

We are incredibly proud of Bipi and Marta for their contribution, professionalism, and commitment to advancing evidence-based neurorehabilitation.

Bipi reflected on the day, sharing: “Grateful to have made new connections, exchanged ideas, and gained an even deeper understanding of the exciting work shaping our field.”

Marta reflected: “I gained a lot of new insights into research being done in the neuropsychological field, specifically in regards to memory systems and how we can further improve rehabilitation.”

🎨 A Celebration of Creativity

Yesterday at Kingston Rehabilitation Centre, we were proud to host our Residents Art Gallery, welcoming families, friends and staff to view the incredible artwork created in our art therapy sessions.

The exhibition was a true celebration of creativity, individuality and progress. Each piece reflected not just artistic talent, but personal stories, resilience and expression.

Art therapy is a powerful part of rehabilitation. It provides a meaningful way for individuals to communicate, reduces stress and anxiety, supports cognitive recovery, and helps rebuild confidence and identity.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and supported our residents - it meant so much to share this special day together.

Complex care is never one size fits all because no two people’s needs, conditions, or lives are the same.

At CHD Living, we support individuals living with a wide range of highly specialised neurological, respiratory, and physical health conditions. This includes people recovering from stroke or brain injury, those living with spinal cord injuries, progressive neurological diagnoses such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s or MND, and individuals requiring tracheostomy or ventilator support.

What matters most is not just the condition, but the person behind it. Their routines, goals, independence, and quality of life shape every care plan we deliver.

With the right clinical oversight and multidisciplinary expertise, complex care can be delivered safely and effectively in the comfort of home, often providing greater stability, familiarity, and long term wellbeing.

If you are supporting someone with complex needs, or would like to understand what options are available, our Complex Care Team is here to help.

A little Easter round-up 💛

The past few days have been filled with some really lovely moments across CHD Living - shared meals, time outside in the garden, music, reflection, and of course a few Easter treats along the way.

We hope you’ve had a weekend full of moments that mean something to you. Happy Easter from all of us at CHD Living.

Recovery rarely follows a straight line. It is often uncertain, emotional, and deeply personal. Behind every rehabilitation journey is a family navigating change, hope, and the need for the right support at the right time.

We are continually reminded why specialist rehabilitation matters through the experiences shared by those closest to the people we support.

“Mum came to Bagshot Park for two weeks of rehabilitation following major emergency surgery. The team were able to admit her at very short notice and provided an excellent service to her, my father and I. The facility is excellent, with modern, clean rooms and onsite physiotherapy. The whole team were incredibly supportive and answered every question I had during her stay. A huge thank you to all the team.”

Stories like this reflect what thoughtful, responsive rehabilitation can mean during critical moments of recovery.

Equally powerful are the longer term outcomes families witness over time.

“I can speak very highly of the service and quality of care offered at Kingston Rehabilitation Centre. My mother suffered a serious stroke and is now restricted to a wheelchair, but the physiotherapy team saw that as no barrier. They supported her with standing exercises, exceeding what we thought possible. Our thanks to the entire rehab team at Kingston. I can also recommend the high quality speech and language therapy offered by the centre.”

Rehabilitation is never just about clinical input. It is about restoring confidence, rebuilding independence, and supporting people to achieve outcomes that genuinely improve quality of life.

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month, a chance to recognise that brain injury can change life in an instant, and that recovery is rarely simple, quick, or linear.

For many people, the impact is not just physical. It can affect memory, concentration, communication, mood, fatigue and confidence. Families often describe it as learning a new way of living, together.

At CHD Living, we support people living with brain injury through specialist rehabilitation, complex care and care at home. Our focus is on what matters most to each person: rebuilding independence where possible, improving function and mobility, supporting cognition and wellbeing, and helping people feel safe, understood and hopeful as they take the next steps.

This month, we’re standing with everyone living with brain injury, and the families, clinicians and carers who support them. Progress can be measured in small wins, and those wins matter.
