This online workshop explores how we can better support children moving from primary to secondary school, or between elementary, middle and high school. These can be some of the most significant transitions in their lives, especially for those who have experienced developmental trauma.

Learn about applying the principles of PACE to support school transitions, how relational safety and regulation can be nurtured in school environments, and the impact of systemic challenges on Black and brown children and how these intersect with trauma responses.

Lucy Joy is a Creative Arts Psychotherapist, DDP Practitioner, Dramatherapist and is EMDR Trained. She is a freelancer in private practice working with families and adults who specialises in developmental trauma, dissociation and racialised trauma held within the mind, body and soul.

DDPI Worldwide launches new Growth & Access Program (GAP) 🎉

We’re proud to announce the launch of the Growth & Access Program (GAP), a new grant-making fund designed to open DDP pathways for practitioners, organisations and communities in emerging regions.

Through group and member-led initiatives the fund will be used to support small grants that work as catalysts, creating sustainable growth, strengthening the DDP field and building lasting local capacity.

The program is focussed on expanding opportunities in the Global South and other underserved regions, helping to reduce the barriers limiting access to DDP training and development.

For me IBD is everyday 💜

sorry Ive been a bit quiet, but another surgery needed, part of the joy of CROHNS, but I've an amazing village of family, friends, doctors, nursing staff, surgeons, admins, colleagues who make me feel safe in their hands. They see me, the person, all decisions are made with me central to planning and everyone respects the role of each other and recognises the value of each member of my village.

Helps me always when connecting with families to remember what responses are helpful when someone is feeling vulnerable, unsafe and scared.

Never underestimate the power of connection, open transparent communication and the experience of being treated with compassion and seen!!!
