If you need to visit Banbury Cross Health Centre over the summer months, please do be aware that we don't have air conditioning and the building can get quite warm. Please bear this in mind as your comfort is important to us. We have fans in all the waiting rooms and most of the consulting rooms, but if you are feeling the heat, please do speak to a member of staff. They are doing a fantastic job in this weather as well, so huge thanks to them.

We're nearly there

Introducing our new Digital Front Door service!

From Wednesday 1 July 2026, the Practice will require patients to submit any requests for either an appointment with a GP, or admin tasks (e.g. fit note), via a new provider called Blinx on our website.
Please don’t worry if you do not have internet access – the call centre or reception team will still be able to submit these requests on your behalf, and you can continue to contact us as usual.
This will replace the system we have been using called Accurx. We hope that our patients will find Blinx easier to use, as it doesn't require an email address and password to login, just your NHS number and date of birth.
You can find your NHS number on either your NHS App homepage, or by searching it using this link: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/find-nhs-number/
We have updated the website with some guidance on how to use the digital front door and some FAQ’s ahead of our launch, you can find it here: https://www.banburycrosshealthcentre.co.uk/news/new-total-triage-system
Many thanks for your understanding.

Being Safe Around Water
Entering any body of water, whether it’s a swimming pool, a river, a lake or the sea, always carries a risk, even for the best swimmers. If you can’t swim, or you’re not a very strong swimmer, the risks can be huge.

Cold water shock and underwater hazards have claimed many lives over the years.

According to the Royal Life Saving Society, around 85% of all accidental drownings occur at open water sites and many of these occur due to a lack of knowledge and understanding of open water safety.

Even if you’re a strong swimmer, you should think twice before entering open water and you should never swim in open water on your own - this includes the sea, if you’re heading to the coast on holiday.

It’s much safer to swim in a pool or lido, where there is proper supervision.

You’ll find lots of tips and advice on what to think about before entering water and what to do if you get into trouble on the Royal Life Saving Society website. https://www.rlss.org.uk/Pages/Category/water-safety-information
