What a day... ❤🏃♀️
The Aberdeen Half Marathon. Beautifully organised,an incredible atmosphere, and sharing it with my biggest supporters, my mum and dad.
When my coach sent me my race paces, I remember looking at them thinking, ‘I can’t do that.’ Fear crept in, self-doubt got louder, and I questioned whether I was aiming too high. But she believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself.
It’s funny how ur mind works before anything that means so mush to u personally. You convince yourself you haven’t done enough. With this run I forgot the early mornings, the sessions you pushed through I always tell my clients ur ready, you’ve got this. “Lynn take ur own bloody advice 🙈”
Then the race starts...
I looked down at the paces I’d written on my arm, took a deep breath and trusted them. With every KM, every cheer from the crowds, every footstep around me, the doubt slowly disappeared. Somewhere along the course I caught myself smiling.
Not because it was easy... but because I realised I was doing something that makes me smile and happy!
I crossed the line in 1:32:37. 🤯🤯
The time means a lot, It’s proof that we are often far more capable than we allow ourselves to believe. Sometimes all it takes is someone believing in you until you’re ready to believe in yourself.
To my coach, thank you for seeing something in me that I couldn’t yet see.
To my Mum and Dad, thank you for always being there, standing in the cold, waiting for me at the
finish, celebrating every achievement as if it were ur own.
This is a reminder to stop putting limits on yourself and just do it. With anything!
(It’s not all about pb’s it’s seeing what ur capable of whatever is thrown at u ❤️)
Here’s to believing and making YOURSELF proud of YOU✨✨✨✨✨
(PS the face ain’t pretty when ur doing the work 😂😂)
