Being smartly turned out is one of the many ways we show respect to the families we serve and to the loved ones in our care.

Yeates, Maureen (nee Brennan) passed away peacefully on 18th August 2026. Much loved wife of Denis, devoted mother of Phillip and David and their partners Owen and Helen. Loving Aunt of Jack and Maeve and great friend of Geraldine.

A Celebration of Maureen’s Life will take place in John Gray & Co, 80 Central Avenue, Bangor, BT20 3AU at 2pm on Monday 24th August, followed by burial in Clandeboye Cemetery at 3pm.

Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Maureen may be made online to Sightsavers via her tribute page at johngrayfuneraldirectors.com (Funeral Notices).

Barbara and Sandra recently visited West Church Kilcooley to donate outdoor games, stationery and drinks for the church’s Children’s Summer Mission.

McAllister, Stephen-passed away suddenly 6th August 2026. Dearly loved son of the late Terence (Terry) and Dorothy and much loved brother of Sharon.

Funeral Service will take place in John Gray & Co, 80 Central Avenue, Bangor, BT20 3AU on Tuesday 18th August at 3pm, followed by committal in Roselawn Crematorium at 4.40pm.

Family flowers only please. Stephen will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by the wider family circle and all his friends.

For anyone just attending the crematorium, due to major roadworks in the area, please allow at least an extra 20 minutes travel time.

Sending Funeral Invitations 2/4

It can be hard to know where to start when writing a funeral invitation, but it does not need to be complicated.

A simple invitation might include the person’s name, the date, time and location of the service, details of a wake if there is one, and any wishes around flowers, donations or dress.

Gentle wording such as “to celebrate the life of”, “in loving memory of” or “we respectfully invite you” can help the message feel warm, clear and heartfelt.

Urwin, Frances Betty (nee Fletcher) previously of the Tedworth Hotel, passed away peacefully 9th August 2026 at home. Dearly-loved wife of the late Robert, much-loved sister of Victor and the late Georgie, devoted aunt of Paul and Peter, their partners, Gil and Sally and loving great-aunt of Curtis, Nicole and Abigail.

Sending Funeral Invitations 1/4

It can be hard to know which the best way is to share the details of a funeral.

Traditionally, funeral invitations were often sent by post, with personal conversations taking place by phone. Today, families may choose from a few practical ways to let relatives, friends and neighbours know the arrangements.

Social media, private pages, email invitations and MuchLoved online tribute pages can help bring people together in remembrance. They can make it easier to share service details, confirm attendance, leave messages of condolence and support donations in memory of a loved one.

Crawley, Conor -passed away gently on 2nd August 2026. R.I.P.
Beloved husband of the late Pauline, cherished father of Kieron, Nuala, Catherine, Darren, and Claire, and a devoted grandfather to Ronan, Tara, Caitlin, Louisa and Hannah.

Conor will be deeply missed by his loving family and all who knew him. Family and friends may pay their respects at John Gray & Co Funeral Home, 80 Central Avenue, Bangor on Friday 7th August between 11am and 5pm.

Conor’s remains will be received into St Comgall’s Church, Brunswick Road, Bangor, on Sunday 9th August at 4pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Monday 10th August at 10.00am, followed by committal in Roselawn Crematorium at 12.40pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Conor may be made online to Anaka Women’s Collective via chuffed.org/project/185445
