🌮 National Fajita Day at Merton Place, Colwyn Bay

Our residents swapped the usual for a Mexican fiesta today, with fajitas, tasty snacks and themed activities filling the home with colour and chatter. Lots of laughter, good food and a real party atmosphere as everyone got involved.

Days like these are all about bringing a bit of fun and variety into everyday life at Merton Place, and today certainly delivered! 🎉🌶️

🎪 Summer Fair Fun at Merton Place Care Home in Colwyn Bay

Residents, families, friends and team members recently came together for a fantastic Summer Fair at Merton Place Care Home, creating a lively afternoon filled with games, treats, music and plenty of smiles.

The fair featured traditional favourites including ring toss, hook-a-duck, tombola, sweet stalls, homemade cakes and live musical entertainment. It was a lovely opportunity for residents to enjoy time together, take part in something different and share the day with those around them.

The event also raised an amazing £245 towards future resident activities and experiences at Merton Place. ❤️

Meaningful activities are an important part of everyday life in our care homes, helping residents stay socially connected, engaged and involved in the things they enjoy.

A huge thank you to the Merton Place team and everyone who helped organise, support and enjoy such a memorable summer celebration.

A fantastic Summer Festival at Eryl Fryn | Llandudno Care Home ☀️💛

Residents had a wonderful afternoon enjoying classic fairground games, delicious food and plenty of friendly competition.

There was lots of fun with Hook-a-Duck, Tin Can Alley, Balloon Darts and Toss the Bean Bag, with everyone choosing their favourites and joining in at their own pace. 🎯🦆

After all that excitement, it was time for a proper summer feast of hot dogs, burgers and chips, followed by ice cream for dessert. 🌭🍔🍦

The home held a tombola, which raised an amazing £40 for the Residents’ Fund – helping support more activities and special moments for residents at Eryl Fryn.

A lovely day filled with smiles, laughter, good food, and wonderful memories together. ❤️

Kathleen's Train Wish Comes True | Eryl Fryn Care Home, Llandudno, Conwy

All aboard! 🚂

When Kathleen told our team that she wanted to ride a train again at Eryl Fryn Care Home in Llandudno, they made it happen.

Kathleen and a fellow resident set off on a scenic rail journey to Betws-y-Coed, watching the Conwy Valley roll past in glorious sunshine. ☀️ There was time to browse the village shops too, plus a well-earned teacake and milkshake before the trip home.

Granting residents' wishes, one at a time, is at the heart of person-centred care and elderly wellbeing here at Eryl Fryn, and days like this show exactly why. 💙

An afternoon of music and entertainment at Fairways Newydd 🎶🎤

Yesterday afternoon, residents at Fairways Newydd in Anglesey enjoyed a lively performance from singer Mark Whitby. Our lounge was filled with music as residents sang along, took to the dance floor, and joined in with musical instruments and fancy dress props.

Interactive musical performances form an important part of our daily activity calendar at Fairways Newydd, promoting social connection, creative expression, and overall resident wellbeing. Baking Wishes Come True at Ceris Newydd and Glyn Menai - Fairways Care 🍞

As part of the wish granting project at Ceris Newydd Care Home, our resident Glenys shared a simple but special wish with the activities team. She used to bake her own bread and missed the smell of a loaf in the oven and the taste of fresh bread with her favourite butter.

So, the team borrowed a bread maker, brought in the ingredients, and Glenys got to bake again. She loved every minute, and yes, she enjoyed the finished loaf too, butter and all 💛

Moments like these are what person-centred care is all about at our care homes in Bangor.

After 68 extraordinary years of nursing, our beloved Nurse at Fairways Newydd - Fairways Care, Daisy, retires at the age of 86. 💛

Daisy began her nursing career in 1958 and rejoined our team here in Llanfairpwll in 2021, where her calm presence and gentle expertise touched every resident in her care. In 2024, she was honoured at the Wales Care Awards with the Gold Award for Dignity in Care and the Bronze Award for Outstanding Service in Care. 🏆

We gathered with flowers, fizz and full hearts to say thank you. Happy retirement, Daisy🌸

Eryl Fryn Care Home staff raise £820 for Cancer Research UK at Pretty Muddy Women's Mud Run Llandudno

On Saturday 27th June, our amazing Eryl Fryn team took on the Pretty Muddy Race for Life as Team Charlie's Angels. There were plenty of laughs, a fair bit of mud, and one very proud moment as the whole team crossed the finish line together.

Every penny raised goes towards life-saving cancer research, a cause close to many hearts here in Llandudno and beyond. 💛

A magical Alice in Wonderland Day at Eryl Fryn in Llandudno🎩

The lounge became a whimsical Wonderland this week as we hosted our very own Mad Hatter's Tea Party. The team pulled out all the stops in fantastic themed costumes, bringing the beloved story to life for our residents.

The afternoon was filled with laughter, live music, singing and dancing that had everyone smiling from ear to ear. And no tea party is complete without a feast fit for the Queen of Hearts, with residents enjoying a delicious finger food buffet of sweet and savoury treats. 🍰

Our person centred activities are all about sparking joy, encouraging connection and nurturing wellbeing. Thank you to our creative team and everyone who joined down the rabbit hole
