π Carers Week 2026 | 8th β 14th June π
This year's theme, "Together We're Building Carer Friendly Communities," reminds us of the incredible difference unpaid carers make every single day.
At Visiting Angels Barnet & Enfield, we see first-hand the dedication, compassion, and resilience shown by family carers who support loved ones through illness, disability, dementia, and ageing. Their commitment often goes unseen, but its impact is immeasurable.
During Carers Week, we want to take a moment to recognise and celebrate all carers in our community. Whether you're caring for a parent, partner, friend, neighbour, or family member, your kindness, patience, and love do not go unnoticed.
We also recognise that caring can be challenging. Many carers balance their caring responsibilities alongside work, family life, and their own wellbeing. That's why building carer-friendly communities is so important β ensuring carers feel supported, valued, understood, and never alone.
π To every carer:
Thank you for the early mornings and late nights. Thank you for the countless appointments, medication reminders, shopping trips, household tasks, and moments of reassurance. Thank you for the patience you show on difficult days and the compassion you give so freely, even when you're tired yourself.
Thank you for being a listening ear, a comforting presence, an advocate, and a source of strength. Thank you for the sacrifices you make, the worries you carry, and the love you give unconditionally. Thank you for the cups of tea made, the hands held, the smiles encouraged, and the comfort provided during life's most difficult moments.
Whether you have been caring for years or have recently stepped into the role, your dedication helps loved ones maintain their dignity, independence, and quality of life. The care you provide often happens quietly behind closed doors, but its impact reaches far beyond what many people realise.
We see you. We appreciate you. We celebrate you.
This Carers Week, we honour the incredible contribution carers make to families, communities, and society every day. Your dedication changes lives, and your compassion makes the world a kinder place.
You are making a difference. You are valued. You are appreciated. And you are never alone. πβ¨
