Meet Priya Patel!!

Priya Patel – Optometrist & Children's Author

Priya Patel is a highly experienced Optometrist with over 17 years of clinical practice. She graduated from City University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Optometry, achieving a 2:1 classification. Her dedication to patient care and her passion for eye health have defined her career, where she consistently places patient well-being at the heart of everything she does.

Priya’s personal journey as a mother has further shaped her professional and creative path. When her son was diagnosed with a lazy eye at the age of three, Priya applied her clinical expertise to successfully treat him with patching therapy. This experience not only reinforced her commitment to early detection and intervention but also inspired a new chapter in her life—as an author.

Combining her love of storytelling and healthcare, Priya created the children’s book series Little James’ Big Adventures. The first title in the series, Little James Visits The Opticians, uses engaging rhymes and charming illustrations to introduce young readers to the world of eye care. The ethos of the series is to educate children on the importance of health and well-being in a fun, accessible, and anxiety-free way.

The book received recognition within the optometric community and was featured in Optometry Today, highlighting its role in supporting early eye health education for children.

Priya is passionate about empowering children and families with knowledge, ensuring that every patient feels comfortable and confident during health checks. Her unique blend of professional expertise and personal insight allows her to deliver care and service that truly make a difference.
