Quite often people will say to me …” I’m going to treat myself to a massage ..or …… I’m going to book my horse in as a treat …. This is great because it’s lovely to do something special but we need to see that massage is much much more than a luxury, than an occasional “ treat “.
It is a vital tool for preventative & rehabilitative healthcare.
Using hands on techniques to manipulate soft tissue, massage improves circulation, relieves chronic tension and lowers stress hormones, making it essential for managing pain, boosting immunity, preventing injury and helps to speed up injury recovery.
Physical benefits of massage…pain relief, eases chronic pain and relaxes tight, sore muscles .
Enhanced circulation: stimulates blood flow which delivers oxygen to muscles , while flushing out metabolic waste for a quicker workout recovery.
Improved flexibility: helps to stretch and loosen tight muscles and tendons and fascial adhesions, helping to increase / maintain your overall range of movement.
Mental health : stress reduction… lowers cortisol ( stress hormone) and puts the body into a calm state .
Mood enhancing: promotes the release of “ feel good “ neurotransmitters, serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin.
Don’t wait to use massage when there is a problem…… use massage to minimise the risk of a problem !!!!!!!!!!!
