We had fresh fruit Friday taking in valuable nutrients while also keeping hydrated at the same time🍓🍊🍏🍇, a capture of our peter ready and looking all dapper ready for his granddaughter Rebecca and future husbands wedding nuptials in Holmfirth, one to one with our malcom in the comfort of his room, malcom prefers to relax and watch a d.v.d, looking through his collections it was a mutual decision and we chose benny hill, classic entertainment at it's best🙂,finishing our day with our participating residents well loved bingo, well done to our maureen and Sheila shouting house, Also a big thankyou to our carer shannon for supporting our joan during this activity🥰

A few of our lovely residents came together to form a planned group activity topping pitta bases with their favourite choices to enjoy pizza's🍕 as part of their tea menu, we talked and reminissed about the different topping they would enjoy with their family over the years, with our joyce mentioning to prefer to go to the pizza counter at her local asda supermarket whilst out shopping and choose to build her own takeaway pizza with the array of toppings on display at the instore pizza counter, it was so lovely to witness our residents enjoying a personal favourite activity, and like always it was equally lovely to receive positive feedback on how much they had enjoyed themselves, however I bet it was more enjoyable eating their creations once they had been cooked, thankyou oriana for your support🥰

Productive days within our home, Starting with our malcolm and carer Sarah having a comforting chat, a lovely canvas of a lovely therapy dog moose that used to previously visit home gifted to our Betty from her lovely neice gillian, hearing Betty talk about her fondness for moose was so heartwarming to hear🥰,fidget board therapy sessions with our peter.T, peter.W and paul, a nail trim and file for our shirley, our Edith meeting new born granddaughter willow and she is absolutely smitten😍, our joan showing support with the many balloons we inflated🎈our carer Dawn providing a lovely hair pamper for our rose so she was boatmans rest ready, thankyou dawn i really appreciated it, and our rose did too🙂,A home visit for our peter from his nephew Lee and Lee's partner clare, our Linda well on her way with her next project at knit and natter⚔️🧶, and lastly our Sheila and jack laying seed in to feed the birds🐦‍⬛

Our dear Nancy,
Starting with a lovely home visit captured from Nancy's special caring friend Lisa, just look at those smiles, absolutely priceless❤️

Following on with our one to one, I decided to search for what I thought was meaningful poem to read to Nancy,and thought I would make it extra special by placing her name on the poem so it could become a keepsake for her, she loved me reading it out and as you can see in the image her response was so touching and to hear her remark how lovely it was too, i placed the poem in a frame to stand beside her bed, we finished by listening to Daniel o'donnell playing in the background, whilst holding each other's hands, no speech, no movement, just me and our Nancy🥰

Monday magic and another trip our to the boatman's rest Butterflies Dementia Support and Activities Group for once again an afternoon of food and entertainment,this time taking along our redidents brenda,Betty,shirley,rose, maureen.s and also joining us was our Maureen's husband Ian, their lovely daughter in-law Joanne and their close family friend Adele, and of course not forgetting my support our fabulous Diane once again, these events are wonderful, as you can see no expense spared with the food and again we we're made to feel so welcome, our maureen danced like no one was watching 💃,and according to our shirley so did Diane too, it really is sp lovely to see everyone having such a wonderful time, thanks once again to Julie and team at Butterflies,and not forgetting the fabulous staff during service of our beautiful meal, and also a special mention to thomas mark for entertainment 🎤🎶👏
Of course we are already looking forward to our next vist🙂

So where do I actually start?

I would just like to say an heartfelt thankyou to everyone who took the time to visit our home summer fayre yesterday🥰
What an amazing afternoon we had, the sun was on our side☀️, the atmosphere was set from the very start, and all was left was to make those special memories and raise funds for our amazing residents, honestly I am speechless for all the support that were shown,
Now I would just like to give some special mentions to the volunteers for their support on stalls, Joe and Claire on our home cake stall, june, jayne on our tombola stall, steve covering hot drinks and refreshments, our hostess with the mostess Diane on our hot food stand 🍔🌭, dawn on our name the Ragdoll stand, our home cook Carol, linda, dawn, for you beautiful bakes, and my requested sprinkle sponge donations so Julie would leave me be😜, and not forgetting Diane's well loved sausage platts making an appearance once again too😋, our wonderful entertainment Damian🎤🎶, was so lovely to see guests and residents up dancing💃🕺,all the wonderful kind donations received, our amazing staff on duty i personally thank each and every one of you👏👏

When you have a vision on how you'd like the day to be, and you see it all come together,
You can stand back and say WOW😲

All the planning and organising behind the scenes makes it all worth while

Celebrating yorkshire day in style, a few of our lovely residents in their own words telling me why they are proud to come from Yorkshire, and a few captured with their families posing tall and proud too, what an absolutely amazing day for many reason, and yes I am proud to be a Yorkshire lass, but even more prouder of all the love and support that's been on display today within our home at our summer fayre, what a fantastic time we have had, updates to follow, i can not wait to share my content, however first comes sleep💤💤
