While cotton buds might seem like the perfect way to clean your ears, they often do the opposite. Instead of removing earwax, they can push it further into the ear canal, increasing the risk of impacted wax, infections and even injury to the eardrum.

👂 MYTH MONDAY… but on a Tuesday: Ear Candling

Looks like the England match got the better of us yesterday and our proofreading was not on form 😅

Let’s try this again…

❌ There is no scientific evidence that ear candling removes ear wax or improves hearing.

The residue left inside the candle?
It's from the candle itself... not your ears.

Ear candling can also increase the risk of:
🔥 Burns
👂 Ear canal injuries
⚠️ Delayed diagnosis of the real problem

If your ears feel blocked, the safest first step is to have them examined by a qualified audiologist. Sometimes it's ear wax... sometimes it isn't.
