Devon Care & Living The alternative to residential care throughout North Devon 🏡 This is an alternative to a care home settings, with emphasis on creating choice and dignity.

Fremington Homes provides rented accommodation to elderly people with a domiciliary care company Hadley Care on site providing care. We differ from residential care homes in that we are small lodges/bungalows with capacity for 6 -9 tenants to rent rooms with en suite bathrooms and share the communal areas with like minded people. Rooms can be furnished or unfurnished so that you can make it “home from home”, most of our lodges are purpose built, light and airy and all have lovely peaceful gardens.

🐐🐔🐹 Some Very Special Visitors at Newlands! 💛
Our clients at Newlands had another fantastic animal visit, this time welcoming some lovely goats, chickens and guinea pigs to the lodge!
Everyone had the opportunity to get up close, have a cuddle and enjoy spending time with the different animals. There were plenty of smiles, conversations and lots of curiosity as our clients got to know their new furry and feathered friends. 🥰
After how much everyone enjoyed the previous animal visits, it was wonderful to welcome some new faces and create another memorable experience for our clients.
We’re already wondering who might come to visit us next! 🐾💛

🍂🍲 Autumn is on its way! 🍲🍂
As we head into the cooler autumn months, our staff and clients have been getting busy in the kitchens across the lodges, creating some delicious homemade meals and puddings to warm us from the inside out! 🥧💛
From hearty home-cooked dishes to comforting sweet treats, there’s nothing better than the smell of something delicious cooking on a chilly day.
Cooking and baking together is about so much more than the finished dish it’s a chance to get involved, share favourite recipes, learn new skills and, most importantly, enjoy some quality time together.
We can’t wait to see what other autumn favourites make their way onto the menus over the coming weeks! 🍁☕🥧

🚗💛 A Mini Adventure Comes to the Lodge! 💛🚗
One of our clients had a very special visit when their son, who was taking part in the North Devon Mini Run, popped in to say hello – bringing his Mini along with him!
It was a lovely opportunity to spend some time together, admire the car and share in the excitement of the event. Visits like these mean so much and help our clients stay connected with their families, interests and what’s happening in the local community.

Supporting independence, one step at a time 💛🍽️
At Evergreen Lodge, one of our clients chose to take on some small daily tasks and lend a helping hand to staff with preparing and serving lunch.

Taking part in everyday activities like these helps build confidence, maintain independence, and gives clients the opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way. It was wonderful to see the pride and sense of achievement that came from being involved.

At Devon Care and Living, we believe in supporting people to make their own choices and continue doing the things that matter most to them, no matter how big or small.
