The Diamedica Glostavent® Helix Anaesthesia Machine is featured in this UNFPA story highlighting how a new operating theatre at Dondo District Health Centre in Mozambique is expanding access to safe surgery.

The new facility has transformed access to emergency obstetric care, reducing referral delays and enabling life-saving surgical care for mothers closer to home. Since opening, more than 𝟯𝟮𝟬 women have received critical surgical care, primarily caesarean sections, helping save the lives of mothers and newborns.

For years, safety was a luxury mothers in Sofala Province could not count on. Complications during childbirth caused panic, and distance created danger; by the time help arrived, it was often too late. In Dondo, ambulances often left at

Bansang General Hospital Strengthens Critical Care with Mechanical Ventilator Donation

Bansang General Hospital is pleased to announce the donation of a mechanical ventilator from Diamedica, a significant contribution that will enhance the hospital's capacity to provide life-saving critical care services.
A mechanical ventilator is a vital medical device that helps, or completely takes over, breathing for patients who are unable to breathe adequately on their own. The machine delivers oxygen-rich air into the lungs and helps remove carbon dioxide through a breathing tube, giving patients the respiratory support they need during critical illness or emergencies.
This valuable addition will strengthen our Intensive Care and Emergency services, enabling our dedicated healthcare professionals to provide improved care for patients with severe respiratory conditions and other life-threatening emergencies.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Diamedica for this generous donation and for supporting our mission to deliver quality healthcare services to the people of the Central River Region and beyond.

Together, we are saving lives and building a stronger healthcare system.

Our friends at Mission Geeks are making such a positive impact in Zambia by repairing and maintaining essential medical equipment. With limited access to spare parts and technical support, even small repairs can make a life-saving difference.

We're pleased to support their efforts to keep our Baby CPAP machines working where they're needed most, helping ensure newborns continue to receive vital respiratory care. Thank you Mission Geeks for your dedication and hard work!👏

We’re pleased to see our Glostavent® Helix Anaesthesia Machine successfully installed at Hargeisa Group Hospital, Somaliland, in collaboration with the DAK Foundation and Australian Doctors For Africa.

The hospital confirmed everything is working perfectly, and with several members of the anaesthesia team already experienced in using the machine, it is ready to support safe, reliable anaesthesia care from day one.

In May we were invited to the Anaesthesia in Low Resources Course at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, bringing together anaesthesia practitioners from across Europe and Africa.

Delegates explored the Glostavent and DPA anaesthesia machines, with a live demonstration from Diamedica’s Robert Neighbour. This generated valuable discussion and it was encouraging to hear positive experiences of the equipment supporting safe anaesthesia delivery in challenging environments.

A great example of how collaboration and education can help improve patient care worldwide.

The step from working on Gotland to working in Afghanistan may seem a long one, but for anaesthetist Dr Anders Mattsson, it could soon become a reality. If it happens, it will not be his first time working on missions abroad. It is a way of working that he feels facilitates a two-way exchange of exp...

Thank you Safe Anaesthesia Worldwide - SAWW for selecting the Diamedica Baby CPAP. It’s rewarding to see it making a positive impact in Nepal👏💚

Thank you to everyone who supported our appeal for Nepal. CPAP equipment donated by SAWW to Chaurjahari Hospital, a remote rural hospital, was used to save the lives of pre-term twins born at 35 weeks gestation with respiratory distress.

"Our facility successfully managed the delivery and neonatal care of twin infants born at 35 weeks gestation, weighing 1900g and 2200g respectively. Both neonates presented with respiratory distress post-delivery, necessitating the use of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) support. Additionally, one infant required phototherapy for the management of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia. Following a one-week course of treatment, both infants were discharged in stable condition. The availability of CPAP technology continues to be a critical factor in our ability to provide life-saving care and expand our capacity for preterm admissions."
