Nothing means more to us than hearing that we've made a difficult process a little easier for a family πŸ’™

Here's what Nic Rockett recently shared about their experience with us:

"I was extremely happy with the service I received from CJ Ball. Deb talked us through the process so we were aware of the timeline, cost and permissions needed. Deb was very professional and made the process simple for us. Would suggest anyone who needs this service to give her a ring and have a chat with her. The price was reasonable as well. Thanks Deb for your help and patience with us."

August brings quieter, golden evenings to Merthyr Dyfan Cemetery - a good time to walk over, tidy a memorial, and sit with your thoughts for a while without the rush of a Sunday morning.

It's one of the largest cemeteries in Wales, and for many Barry families it's become a place of routine as much as remembrance - a stop on the way home, a Sunday ritual, a quiet ten minutes after work.

C.J. Ball & Son has been caring for family memorials right on Merthyr Dyfan's doorstep since 1929, so if a headstone needs cleaning, re-levelling or new lettering before autumn sets in, we're just up the road.

Get in touch if you'd like us to take a look.

Glynis Lewis left us this wonderful review:

"Excellent service from CJ Ball Memorial Masons. From start to finish all the stages necessary to arrange a memorial stone were carried out efficiently and professionally. Special thanks to Debra who helped us along the way with kindness and compassion and kept us up to date with the progress. We are delighted with the headstone and highly recommend this company."

Did you know that the town of Barry - our home - was once little more than a quiet fishing village?

Everything changed in the 1880s. As coal thundered out of the South Wales Valleys, the docks at Cardiff were overwhelmed. Visionary industrialists, led by David Davies of Llandinam, chose Barry as the site for a new, purpose-built coal port.

By 1913, Barry Docks had become the largest coal-exporting port in the entire world πŸŒβ›΅

Workers arrived from Ireland, Scandinavia, England and further afield. Rows of limestone terraced houses rose from the hillsides. The population exploded - from a handful of people to over 38,000 by 1914.

The families who built this town - many of whose descendants still live here today - are remembered in cemeteries throughout the area. At C.J. Ball Memorials, we are proud to serve this remarkable community, just as we have since 1929 πŸ’™

There is no single right way to remember someone we love.

Some people visit the grave regularly. Others carry a loved one in their heart, in a photograph on the mantelpiece, or in a piece of jewellery. Some plant a tree, or light a candle on special days.

πŸ’¬ How do you remember the people who matter to you?

There are no right or wrong answers. We simply ask because, as a family memorial business serving the people of Barry and South Wales since 1929, we think about this a great deal.

Remembrance is at the very heart of everything we do πŸ’™
