If you’re seeking help with mental health issues then please ensure you look for the PSA Quality Mark.

The mark helps you know that the practitioner you’re choosing is on a register independently accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, with standards in place to protect the public.

I am a British Acupuncture Council member and we are all PSA accredited.

When you choose a British Acupuncture Council Member, you’re choosing an acupuncturist with a minimum of degree-level training, who is committed to high professional standards, safe practice and codes of professional conduct.

So if you or someone you know has mental health concerns then please check out your practitioner’s credentials before booking.

Today is International Dog Day 🐕🐶🐾

I work really long hours in my clinic, often without a break. Coming home to my little Toy Cavapoo, Ellie, really helps me to relax and unwind after a stressful day.

Interacting with animals has been shown to decrease levels of cortisol (a stress-related hormone) and lower blood pressure. Other studies have found that animals can reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support, and boost your mood.

Acupuncture is also incredibly effective at reducing stress and anxiety, regulating hormones and lowering blood pressure so why not combine the two?

Here’s to all of the dogs in our life 🐕🐶🐾

Great news for British Acupuncture Council members. We are finally getting recognised as professional health practitioners meaning that our patients who donate blood can continue to do so whilst receiving acupuncture from BAcC members.

Another step towards recognising our degree level training, high professional standard and alignment with the NHS and NICE guidelines 🥳🙌🎉

I am away from 17th July 2026 until 9th August 2026 on an adventure around Vietnam with my family.

I rarely switch off from my business but on this occasion I am taking a complete break and will not be responding to any messages until I am back in clinic on 10th August.

Many thanks to my loyal existing patients who are already booked in with me. I am unable to accommodate any new patients until late August/early September.

Wishing you all a wonderful summer ⛩️ 🏝️ 🇻🇳

Did you watch Wimbledon this year? If you did you may have noticed that Novak Djokovic had ear seeds in his ear. This is an alternative to needles in auricular acupuncture.

Would you have plastic surgery without checking the credentials of your surgeon? Then why would you let anybody put needles into you without checking their qualifications and insurance?

Proud to be a British Acupuncture Council member with degree level training and to be on the Professional Standards Authority accredited register which recognises us as trusted medical professionals 🥰

Did you know that acupuncture is recommended by NICE guidelines for the side effects of both chemotherapy and cancer?

I support a number of patients with chemo induced neuropathy, pain from bones/joints which have aged prematurely due to chemo, nausea and loss of appetite, low mood and anxiety and more.

I am trained to work safely where lymph nodes have been removed and can liaise with oncologists as necessary.

It’s an absolute pleasure to work with people in their lowest moments.

Did you know that acupuncture is fantastic for treating chronic sinusitis, rhinitis, nasal drip, general congestion and hayfever?

Don’t take my word for it. Here is a review from a lovely patient of mine who has had fabulous results within just three treatments!

“I would highly recommend, Rachel.

I had been suffering for over two years with chronic sinusitis and had tried the nasal sprays and antihistamines both over the counter and prescribed by my Doctors.

I wasn’t comfortable using either for a long period of time.
Nothing I tried really had a long lasting effect.

My colleague suggested acupuncture but have to say I’d never tried this so was dubious but was desperate to regain my taste and smell and feel less congested which was tiring.

I was so lucky to find, Rachel.

She is a true professional, approachable and easy to chat to.

I noticed a significant difference after my first session and have now had three sessions which have improved my condition massively.

I can smell and taste continuously and the congestion is almost gone which is such a blessing after struggling for so long.

Thank you, Rachel for everything.
You’re amazing! 🤩”

Hi, I’m Rachel - the owner of Flo Acupuncture.

I trained at The Acupuncture Academy in Leamington Spa and hold a Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture, which is a three-year degree level qualification accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. My training was comprehensive and covered all aspects of Chinese medical and acupuncture theory, anatomy, biomedicine, and clinical skills. The training had a focus on Five Element Acupuncture which means that I treat the person as a whole at mind, body, spirit level in preference to focusing on symptoms alone.

My original degree was in Medical Biochemistry and I worked as a chartered accountant for over 20 years before experiencing stress and burnout. Western medicine suppressed my symptoms but led to side effects and failed to resolve the underlying issues. It was after a course of acupuncture that I finally felt a sense of peace and calm again and was able to feel true connection, both with myself and others. I was so passionate about my own outcome that I wanted to train as an acupuncturist myself so that I could share its benefits with others.

Alongside Traditional acupuncture, I am also qualified in Moxibustion, Cupping, Tui Na massage, auricular acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and Gua-sha and use these additional tools in treatment when appropriate.

As a member of the British Acupuncture Council I adhere to the Council’s Codes of Safe Practice and Professional conduct. British Acupuncture Council members are also registered with the Professional Standards Authority which is a government body set up to regulate health and social care providers and is accountable to Parliament.
