Sometimes the most important thing I do is know when NOT to treat. 👂✨

I received this message after seeing a client and honestly, feedback like this means so much.

As an ear care practitioner, I don’t diagnose medical conditions, that’s outside my scope of practice.

But I can recognise when symptoms or findings need further medical assessment, explain my concerns, and refer or signpost someone to the appropriate healthcare professional.

In this case, I recommended that my client contact their GP. They were thankfully able to get an appointment that day and were prescribed antibiotics for a suspected infection.

This is exactly why a proper assessment matters.

Ear care isn’t simply about removing wax. Sometimes the safest and most valuable thing I can do is stop, recognise that something isn’t right, and refer.

Knowing your scope, and knowing when someone needs medical attention, is a huge part of providing safe, responsible ear care. 🤍

I’m looking for 3 confident models to take part in ear wax removal content for Ear Clinic Essex.

✨ Special model price: £20 instead of £50

📍 Location: Basildon, Essex, SS13 1EP

Requirements:

• One model can be a child aged 6–11 years
• You must be available for an ear check before 9th September to confirm you have ear wax suitable for removal
• You must be fully comfortable and confident on camera, as the appointment will be filmed for content
• Depending on your assessment, treatment may involve ear suction (microsuction) or ear irrigation using water
• For anyone under 18, parent/guardian consent and attendance will be required
• The full £20 model fee must be paid in advance to secure your appointment

⏰ 3:30pm | 4:00pm | 4:30pm

A little visitor in the ear clinic the other day! 👂🟠

This young child had managed to get a small polystyrene ball stuck inside their ear.

Thankfully, they sat incredibly still and were so brave throughout the removal, allowing me to safely retrieve it while keeping the whole experience calm and positive.

We even had a look inside the ear together, so they could see the ball before removal and their clear eardrum afterwards, turning what could have been a scary experience into something interesting and reassuring. 💛

One very relieved little patient 👦🏼and one polystyrene ball safely removed! 🙌
