You keep saying you'll start when life settles down

You wait until the perfect time to commit

The perfect time has been "next Monday" for the last 17 years

Another year passes and nothing changes except the size of your clothes

Stop trying to change everything and start changing one thing

The women who succeed aren't luckier or more hard working than you

They just start before they feel ready

DM READY if you're tired of waiting for the perfect moment

It’s cheesy or it’s life changing - only you can decide

Growing up my mum always said to me

“Dare to be different”

She meant in the sense of, don’t feel like you have to follow the crowd

Live a life that serves you, not what your peers or worse, society asks of you

Now I know that could have been taken to the absolute extreme

But luckily for her, this is how it moulded me as an adult:
I’m not really bothered what strangers think of me

– but in a good way

I’ve played tennis in front of big crowds for example

Many wouldn’t step on that stage for fear of being judged – physically

“They will watch how I walk”

“They will see my bingo wings blowing in the wind”

Which I totally get by the way

You’re automatically vulnerable when strangers eyes are on you

It might even make you feel anxious?

And I know dieters sitting on the fence about working with me feel a similar way

After chatting with myself or my team their rational brain knows for sure we’ll guarantee they reach their dream body weight and shape

But for some pre/ during and post menopausal ladies

They still can’t let themselves take the leap

“Oh but I’ve been this sure before and still failed”

“Oh but it’s going to cost me money, what if I fail?”

1. I can almost be as sure as betting on my life you’ve not done a coaching program or dieted our way before – you simply can’t fail

2. I promise you if the coaching was free, you wouldn’t commit to it

Getting out the way of your fear is one of the single hardest things to do on this earth

So I want you to read this next line 6 times before you leave

“Everything you ever wanted is sitting on the other side of your fear”

It might sound woo woo to you, but if you sit with the thought for long enough

It could simply change the trajectory of your life 🫶🏻

Cara has spent the best part of a year trying really hard to lose weight

And when she looked back at all that effort...

The scales had barely moved 2lbs once you factored in all the yo-yo’ing

Imagine how frustrating that is

Trying to be “good”

Starting with full blown willpower again every Monday

And still feeling like you’re getting nowhere

She told me one of the reasons she reached out was because I seemed down to earth in my content

Then after speaking to Mel on a consultation call, her gut instinct told her to take the leap

Thank goodness she listened to it

Because the thing that jumped out at me wasn’t that Cara lacked motivation

It was that she was hungry

Really hungry

Constantly thinking about food

Craving carbs

Craving sugar

Trying to white-knuckle her way through the day

And that’s where so many menopausal women get stuck

They assume the answer is more discipline

When actually the diet itself is creating the problem

So we made a surprisingly simple change

We tweaked the timings of her breakfast and lunch

Added more carbs to both

And almost overnight, the food noise started to disappear

The feeling of always needing “something”

Gone

And when you’re not fighting your own appetite all day?

Staying in a calorie deficit suddenly becomes a whole lot easier

The result?

Cara has lost 9lbs in 3 weeks

After spending more than a year unable to lose that amount in total

The funny thing is, the biggest win isn’t the 9lbs

It’s the relief

The feeling that her body isn’t broken

Her body works differently than it did 20 years ago, and she understands that now

If you’re an overweight menopausal yo-yo dieter who keeps hopping from diet to diet with no luck...

Your friends are shrinking and you're wondering what you're doing wrong

You tell yourself they must be lucky, younger, or taking the jabs

Most people aren't doing something magical, they're just doing something consistently

You spend more time comparing your journey than changing it

Focus on your plate, not someone else's

Some of my clients came to me convinced they were the only woman struggling in menopause

I promise you, that’s not the case 🫶🏻

"I can't go because I'm on a diet"

If your diet can't survive a meal out, it's the diet that's broken, not you.

You keep saying no to meals out because you're trying to lose weight.

You avoid birthdays, holidays and social events to stay "on plan."

A diet that falls apart when life happens is a bad diet.

You lose memories, not just weight.

Learn how to lose weight while saying yes to the things you love.

My clients lose weight eating out, going on holiday and living real lives.

It’s time you started doing the same…

You may or may not know, but I’m quite partial to wearing odd socks

A trademark that other people comment on more than I usually pay attention to

To be honest it’s probably the unwillingness of a morning to sift through my whole draw to

find matching ones

More than me actually choosing to wear odd socks

Anyway, Cody my 2.5 year old came home from nursery and told me “let’s go and walk

Harvey” (Harvey is the dog)

So I said

“okay, put your crocs on and we can”

I was outside putting Casey in the pram when Cody came to the front door

In……

An orange croc on his right foot, green croc on his left foot

At first I wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry

But what came out of my mouth was

“That’s my boy! Be UNAPOLOGETICALLY YOU, always”

And that’s a trick yo-yo dieters have always missed

They have tried to fit a circle into a square hole

Following Slimming World rules

Cutting out carbs

Exercising more

Which has left them overweight for decades

80% of their wardrobe doesn’t fit because they’ve spent too long trying to fit in

What they need to realise is they already have a diet, food preferences and a life

So should think about fitting their diet into THEIR life

Rather than the other way around 🫶🏻
