Unlike Zeus here, trying to drag a tree twice his size around the woods… 🌳🐶😂
Have you got the balance right?
You’ve got your workouts planned 💪🏼 But what happens when the DOMS is real? Do you push through anyway, or take the rest day, reduce the intensity and give your body a chance to recover?
Because without recovery, there is no progress.
😴 Poor sleep because of the kids, work or life in general?
💧 Hydration been a bit questionable?
🍽️ Fuelled properly?
🤕 Carrying a little ni**le you’ve been ignoring?
Sometimes smashing the planned workout isn’t the best option. Getting outside, getting your steps in and giving your body a lower-intensity day might actually do you more good.
And that little ni**le? A week or two of adjusting your load, intensity or frequency now could save you from 6–8 weeks of doing nothing later.
Training, recovery and injury prevention are a balancing act ⚖️ — and it’s not an exact science.
Listen to your body. Challenge it when it’s ready. Back off when it needs it. And when you’re not quite sure which one you need… that’s where we come in. 👋🏼
Whether it’s getting that niggling pain or injury checked, a Body MOT, or some injury-prevention prehab to help keep you doing what you love…
Rutledge Sports Therapy has got you 💪🏼🧡
Now, someone please tell Zeus the tree can stay in the woods. 🌳😂
