Summer can be exciting - but for some children, the school holidays also mean a break from the emotional support and routines they rely on. 💛

I have spaces over the summer holidays for Drawing & Talking Therapy sessions to help children continue processing their feelings in a safe, creative, and non-intrusive space.

Whether they’re navigating change, anxiety, big emotions, or simply need a consistent place to be heard, these sessions can provide gentle support until term begins again and through their first half term in their new classes or schools.

If you think your child would benefit, or you’d like to find out more, please get in touch.

🌿 Limited summer holiday spaces available.

✨ When school waiting lists for pastoral support feel never-ending or your child doesn’t meet CAMHs criteria, your child doesn’t have to struggle alone.

Right now, many families are being told the same thing — the support their child needs is available… but not right now. Children are left managing big feelings without guidance.

That’s where Emotions Coaching at Four Wellbeing comes in. 💛 🧩

I offer gentle, private, 30-minute, 1:1 emotion coaching sessions for children, held at The Treatment Rooms in Basingstoke town centre.

These calm, supportive sessions help children to:
🌈 Understand and name their feelings
🧠 Learn healthy coping strategies
💬 Build confidence expressing themselves
💛 Feel calmer, safer, and more in control

I work with parents to tailor sessions to support the difficulties the child is experiencing to provide personalised and targeted support.

If your child is:
• Feeling overwhelmed
• Struggling with anxiety or anger
• Shutting down emotionally
• Finding friendships tricky
• Acting out or withdrawing
Early support can make such a difference.

✨ Saturday spaces are currently available.
You don’t have to wait months for support. 📩 Send me a message to find out more.

As the end of February fast approaches, several of my young clients are completing their 12-week Drawing and Talking Therapy programme. This means I will have a limited number of spaces available to begin in March. 🗓️

If your child is finding it difficult to manage their emotions, feeling overwhelmed, or struggling to express themselves, Drawing and Talking Therapy can provide a gentle and supportive way to explore and process those feelings. ✍🏻 🗣️

Please feel free to get in touch for more information or to discuss whether this approach might be right for your child. 🧩

It’s Children’s Mental Health Week, and this year’s theme is ‘This Is My Place’.

Inspired by , this week I am running 12 sessions within my school setting - one for every class - based on the book The Grand Hotel of Feelings. The story explores the idea of a hotel where feelings come to stay. Some feelings stay for a long time, others visit less frequently; some are loud guests, while others are quieter and easier to attend to. All feelings are welcome, allowed, and cared for in the way they need to be.
Each hotel room is filled with what that particular feeling needs to make its stay as smooth as possible.

The children are then invited to draw a hotel room for one of their own feelings. I have been blown away by the insightful ideas they’ve shared about what each feeling needs to belong and be noticed. Even the Year 1 children, as young as five and six, have made me stop and think. It’s lovely to see children being so open - sharing their feelings and listening to one another.

This week will certainly fill my cup! If you haven’t read the book please do! ❤️ 🧩 ✏️ ✍🏻

I noticed some real-life effects of attachment-based actions this week… and it was wonderful ✨

I misplaced my usual glasses at some point during the week and had to resort to an old pair (cue the headache from a slightly wrong prescription 😅).

What surprised me was how many children in my school setting noticed straight away. As soon as they saw me, they said things like, “You’ve got different glasses,” or asked, “Have you got new glasses?” For context, many of these children work with me regularly — but one moment stood out in particular…

There’s a girl who says hello to me every time she sees me. I usually comment on her beautiful plaits or hairstyle that day, how happy she looks, or tell her I missed seeing her if I hadn’t seen her the day before. She’s not a child I work with 1:1 and isn’t part of any specific intervention with me.
Yet she noticed my change in glasses immediately — and it really got me thinking about how powerful secure attachment is, and how our small, consistent interactions may have provided her with that ❤️

In attachment theory, a securely attached child learns that people matter and are worth paying attention to. When caregivers consistently notice a child, that child learns to notice others in return.
Children with insecure attachment often notice changes too — but for a very different reason. They’re scanning for danger, cues, or signs that they might need to be cautious.

So often, children come to me with insecure attachment. And after 12 weeks of Drawing and Talking Therapy, many leave with something much closer to secure attachment — because for those 12 weeks, all my attention is on them and whatever wild and wonderful world they’ve created through their picture.

They’ve been seen… consistently… and that has shown them it’s possible within others too ❤️

I have now found my glasses… 🤓 phew!

Having the ability to choose is a bigger deal than it often gets credit for. When someone is offered real choice, it puts them back in control. It sends the message that their instincts matter and that they’re allowed to go at their own pace, in their own way.
That’s why choice works so well in drawing and talking therapy. When a child is invited to draw anything they want, there’s no pressure to get it “right” or make something meaningful on demand. They can draw a feeling, a random idea, a memory, or just whatever shows up in the moment. Sometimes we sit for a while before they decide but that’s ok - it creates a sense of safety and that’s often where the process begins! I’m always excited to see how making those choices progresses over the weeks 🧩 ✨

✨This why I do it… 🧩 ✍🏻 🗣️

I really miss the children I work with after their 12 sessions are complete but I also get really excited for them. It’s their chance to realise that things don’t just feel better because they have their weekly session with my guidance…

They’ve done the work and they feel the change and it’s a bonus when their families see the difference too. ❤️
