Men hard at work 💪🏻 🌳

Some of our residents are more proactive than others and have the desire to keep busy.
It’s not uncommon for our garden to be mentioned in conversation in terms of wanting things changed, talk of the hedge and planting flowers, this is because most of our residents enjoy gardening and are proud of their gardens back home. It’s nice that they view our communal space as their own.

Below are pictures of a resident helping our maintenance man Terry create a walkway in preparation for our annual summer bbq! To give the garden more of an inclusive feel.

Some of our residents in yesterday’s sun taking a leisurely stroll around Alice holt! The perfect day for it paired with a picnic! We love picnics in the summer season at old Raven and look forward to more🧺 🥪

Movie night 🍿🎥

From time to time the residents enjoy a relaxed movie night with the luxuries of hot choc and popcorn. This time around they watched the famous Will smith star in a movie called ‘The Hitch’. Sometimes it’s about the simplicities like getting comfy in pyjamas and enjoying a comedy.

Sonal’s activities this week keeping the residents occupied! With the addition of our wonderful Ava’s variety hours!
The residents have enjoyed bingo, it was lovely to see usually more private residents join in with this!
The balloon has joined us again this week along with games, colouring and word searches.

Volunteers;

Last year we were fortunate enough to have two girls from Bcot do their work experience with us. Their extra hands allowed us to offer more support and attention to our residents. Over their weekly visits they became more familiar and confident and even progressed to creating their own activities.

What our gents get up to 👀
DIY - most of our men have tried their hand in craftsmanship or handy man work in their lives so enjoy being helpful to others or having the answers and solutions to problems, like educating us on different tools or mending frames.
We also host a darts morning for men on Friday morning.

Balloon fun 🎈
It’s quite hard not to react when a giant orange balloon comes your way, this activity is great for activating the residents reflexes and a fond favourite.
