I had surgery for my lipoedema six years ago, a reset, but surgery isn’t the end of the journey, just a beginning of a new chapter. We’re still learning more about this condition every day but there is still so much to understand, it can become overwhelming.

It’s why I’m so passionate about what I do. 🤍

Something I am hearing more often in my clinic is clients saying they feel overwhelmed by the amount of wellness advice out there.

A few clients recently say they’ve removed social media altogether just to quieten the constant “wellness noise”.

It can start to feel like a lot. 🤯

Maybe it’s just my algorithm, it feels like we’re overcomplicating wellness so much that wellness itself could start to feel like illness. 🤔

I don’t want to add to the noise.

But it did make me wonder…

Is anyone else missing the old Instagram?
The one that felt a bit more real?

Or maybe people would actually rather see more from me, a bit more day to day life in the clinic, more about what I do, or what I do for others. Or simply more of my life personally, just to keep it more real, like the old Instagram. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m open to suggestions! I just don’t want to add to that “noise.”

So… tell me what you would like to see, or to shut up if you think I should! 🤍

Today is International Women’s Day. 🤍

I feel so blinking lucky to be surrounded by the most amazing women every single day, both in my work and in my personal life.

Life isn’t always easy, and without a doubt I would be lost without the women in my life. The strength, support and encouragement we give each other is something really special.

Through my work I also have the privilege of meeting so many incredible women, each on their own journey, whether that’s healing, rebuilding confidence in their bodies, or simply taking time to care for themselves. Whilst I am there to support my clients, my clients are very much there for me too ❤️

When I look back at moments of real emotional struggle, I am truly thankful for the women who helped me through it. 🥰

To all the wonderful women in my life and to every client who has trusted me with their care , thank you!

Here’s to women supporting women, today and always.

This is something I see often in clinic, yet many people feel too embarrassed to mention it.

It doesn’t get the recognition it deserves, we talk about oedema elsewhere but not in our private parts. We can feel a little embarrassed to bring it up, and often it’s only when I ask that they realise it’s something they’ve been dealing with.

Swelling in the p***c area is actually quite common, especially after procedures involving the abdominal midline.

What are some of the symptoms?

✨feeling “full”
✨uncomfortable down below
✨feeling puffy / bloated
✨Sore

I’m certified in management of ge***al oedema, I’m also happy to show you in clinic simple techniques you can do yourself at home to help reduce swelling and support better lymphatic flow.

Like all oedema you want to take action as soon as you notice to reduce the chances of it worsening.

I don’t often share before and afters, but this one shows the power of bespoke manual lymphatic drainage & scar therapy.

This lovely client had a recent caesarean, so our sessions have been all about gently supporting the body,  softening the tissue around the scar, encouraging proper lymphatic flow, and helping reduce that heavy, swollen feeling.

We’re also working on rebuilding body confidence and helping her reconnect with this area again, especially around the scar, which can often feel numb, tight, or unfamiliar after surgery.

Post birth recovery isn’t about “getting your body back.” It’s about comfort, healing, and feeling at home in your body again.

Sometimes the gentlest work creates the biggest shift 💛

We all love a visual, think of the lymphatic system as the body’s internal river.

When lymph is flowing well, tissues stay balanced, swelling is kept in check, and the body can function more comfortably.
When flow slows or becomes restricted, fluid can build, congestion develops, and this can affect how the body feels day to day.

Supporting lymphatic flow helps support the body as a whole.

As a certified lymphoedema & lipoedema therapist, here’s how I see vibration plates and how I use mine.

I think they’re brilliant, I’ve been using one for years, BUT… they aren’t for everyone.

Vibration plates are certainly having a moment, and whilst I am a fan, they’re not a magic fix. I see them as another self-care tool, supportive when used correctly, but not something to jump into aggressively.

There’s a fair amount of research suggesting that lower frequency vibration can be more beneficial than higher settings, particularly when the goal is supporting circulation and lymphatic flow. More intensity does not automatically mean better results.

✨ Start low — and for many, stay low.
Slow, gentle vibrations can be extremely effective.

✨ This is not a “hell for leather” situation.
We want to see how your body responds, especially if you’re living with lipoedema, lymphoedema or autoimmune conditions. Build gradually and pay attention to how you feel afterwards.

If you have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), you may find vibration isn’t something your body loves. Some people with MCAS are more sensitive to stimulation, and what works beautifully for one person can feel too much for another. Always listen to your body — it will usually tell you.

✨ Preparation matters.
I always “empty” my lymph nodes beforehand (a little self-MLD first), so the system is primed before adding stimulation.

✨ Position with intention.
Personally, I love lying down as I’ve often been on my feet all day, resting my legs on the plate with no muscles engaged. Deep breathing. Abdomen relaxed. Let the wobble take over. When the body isn’t bracing, the vibration creates a beautiful ripple effect through the tissues.

There are certain times of the month when my body absolutely embraces the vibration plate… and other times it really doesn’t. This is why we need a whole host of tools we can use at different times.

They can be a wonderful addition to your routine, but subtle and slow will always beat aggressive.

Not medical advice, just my professional experience and what I see working well in clinic 🤍

I often get asked about lymphatic brushes. Personally, I use this one on my face, but many of my clients see fantastic results using it on the breasts — particularly post-surgery or when managing lymphoedema.

The Lymphatic Brush by Cecily Braden is the world’s first and only device specifically designed for facial and body lymphatic drainage. Expertly engineered with a patented design, it offers a seamless, ergonomic and luxurious way to support lymphatic circulation and the body’s natural detoxification processes.

Used regularly and correctly, it can help reduce congestion, support drainage, and leave tissues feeling lighter and healthier, especially in areas where lymphatic flow is often sluggish and overlooked.

These are available in my clinic and can be purchased as a duo, small, or large.

As always, technique matters, gentle, slow and consistent is key 🤍
