Farewell Summer, Welcome Autumn πŸπŸ‚

As August draws to a close, we say goodbye to the warmth and brightness of summer and embrace the gentle beauty of autumn.

The changing of the seasons often reminds us of the passage of time, the memories we hold dear, and the loved ones who continue to live on in our hearts. As the leaves begin to turn and the days grow a little shorter, autumn offers us a chance to pause, reflect, and find comfort in remembrance.

For many, this season brings moments of quiet reflection while visiting the resting places of family members, friends, and beloved pets. Whether you're placing flowers, sharing stories, or simply taking a peaceful walk through the grounds, these acts of remembrance help keep cherished memories alive.

As we welcome autumn, we extend our warmest thoughts to all those remembering someone special. May this season bring you moments of peace, comfort, and connection with the memories that matter most. πŸ§‘πŸ‚βœ¨

Our bees have been making the most of the summer months, spending long days collecting pollen and nectar, caring for the next generation of bees, and building up vital honey stores to see them through the winter ahead. 🐝

With the recent spell of hot, dry weather, many people may wonder how bees cope with the rising temperatures inside their hive. Remarkably, they have their own natural cooling system. Worker bees use their wings to create airflow, fanning warm air out of the hive, while others collect water which is spread and evaporated to help keep the colony comfortable. πŸ’§

In the photograph above, our Beekeeper and Cemetery (Grounds) Operative, George, is carefully harvesting some of the honey produced by the hive. Rest assured, plenty of honey is left behind to ensure the bees have sufficient food reserves for the colder winter months. 🍯

Our Stunning Views β˜€οΈπŸŒ³

The fields are currently looking rather golden and sun-baked, creating a striking contrast against the lush green of the trees and the bright blue skies we've been fortunate to enjoy this summer. On clear days, colourful hot air balloons can be seen drifting peacefully across the horizon, adding even more beauty to the landscape. πŸŽˆπŸ’™

Haycombe's elevated position offers some of the most spectacular views across Bath and the surrounding countryside. Whether you're taking a quiet moment of reflection, visiting a loved one, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings, there is always something special to see. 🌿

From changing seasonal colours and stunning sunsets to visiting wildlife and panoramic views stretching across the valley, the scenery at Haycombe provides a wonderful opportunity to pause and appreciate the natural beauty around us.

We hope you have had the chance to enjoy some of Haycombe's lovely views during your visits and perhaps even capture a photograph or two. We'd love to see your favourite Haycombe views in the comments below! πŸ’š

Honour a Loved One on Our Memory Tree 🌳

Nestled within our peaceful Book of Remembrance Room is our beautiful wall-mounted Memory Tree, a special place dedicated to reflection, remembrance, and celebrating the lives of those we hold dear.

The tree is adorned with elegantly engraved golden leaves, each carrying a personal tribute to a loved one. Families and friends can choose to have a short message and a meaningful motif engraved onto a golden leaf, creating a lasting memorial that is securely placed on a branch of the Memory Tree.

The Memory Tree offers a comforting and beautiful way to keep memories alive in a tranquil setting. Memorial leaves are available to purchase on a 10-year lease, with the option to renew thereafter.

For more information about dedicating a leaf, please contact our main office. We would be honoured to help you create a lasting tribute to someone special. πŸƒπŸ’›

For anyone who would like to join us, we're taking a gentle pause to remember those who are no longer by our side, but forever held within our hearts.

Life can be busy, noisy, and often overwhelming. In the rush of our daily lives, we don't always give ourselves the time and space to stop, breathe, and reflect on those we carry with us in memory. Today, we invite you to take a quiet moment of calm remembrance.

If you'd like to, you're warmly invited to share the name of a loved one in the comments below. Together, we can honour their memory, speak their name, and reflect on the love they brought into our lives.

Like stars that remain long after sunset, the people we love continue to shine in the memories we cherish and the lives they touched. Though they may be beyond our sight, they remain woven into our stories, our hearts, and the moments that shape us.

Today, we remember them with tenderness, gratitude, and love. 🀍✨

Our Wonderful Pet Section 🐾

Pets are so much more than animals, they are cherished members of our families who leave paw prints on our hearts forever.

At the cemetery, we understand the special bond between people and their beloved companions. That's why we offer a dedicated pet section, providing a peaceful and respectful resting place for pets through both full burials and the interment of cremated remains.

A place to remember, reflect, and celebrate the unconditional love our pets bring to our lives, because every family member deserves to be remembered with love. ❀️
