Know Your Numbers! Week takes place from 7–13 September 2026, encouraging people of all ages to check and understand their blood pressure.

Around one in three UK adults has high blood pressure—and many don’t know it because it often has no obvious symptoms. Left unmanaged, it can increase the risk of heart attack, stroke and other serious conditions.

The best way to understand your blood pressure is to check it regularly.

How are you getting on with the NHS App? If you would like some support, we are here to help.

The Beeches Medical Practice has partnered with Age UK Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin to provide guidance on getting started with the NHS App or making better use of its features.

Age UK will be at our practice on Thursday 10th September, from 10:00am to 4:00pm, delivering one‑to‑one support sessions. They can assist with downloading the app, setting it up, and showing you how to use it confidently.

Ask About Asthma week 2026

Asthma is the most common long-term medical condition affecting
children and young people.

• 1 in 11 are affected by the condition, around 3 in every classroom.
• Poorly managed asthma results in over 20,000 hospital admissions every
year in England. 90% of asthma deaths are preventable yet children die of
asthma every year.

We can all take action to help so that children with asthma lead long, full and
productive lives.

September is Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month. Swipe to learn the key symptoms of the five gynaecological cancers, so you know what to look out for.

You know your body better than anyone. Knowing what’s normal for you can help you spot when something changes.

Having any of these symptoms does not definitely mean you have cancer, but it’s important to get checked by a GP.
