As you may know, in September 2025 The Simpson Centre & Penn Surgery was awarded an “Outstanding” rating by the Care Quality Commission, ranking us in the top 0.5% of practices in the country. A very proud day for our team. Since then we have continued with our efforts to offer clinical excellence to all of our 19,000 patients supported by a dedicated administration team. We’ve been very fortunate with some further achievements such as being awarded the Corkhill National Patient Participation Group of the year in November 2025 for our formidable PPG colleagues, the Practice Business Manager of the year award from the Practice Manager’s Association in October 2025 for our very own Practice Business Manager and then a successful modernisation plan for the Penn Surgery completed in February 2026.

On Thursday 7th May we had the pleasure of welcoming the senior team from the CQC to our facility to reflect on our work within our local communities, to share learning and experience and to showcase our recent achievements and plans for the future. Professor Dr Bola Owolabi (Chief Inspector of the CQC), Helen Rawlings (CQC Director for Primary and Community Care South area) and Andy Blackstock our very own CQC Inspector met with our Managing GP Partner Dr Will Owen, our Practice Business Manager James Perrin and one of our PPG representatives Susan. It was an incredible meeting and was a true inspiration for our team as we proudly toured The Simpson Centre facility in Beaconsfield and we embraced some further ideas for the practices in both Beaconsfield and Penn to adopt in our future plans.

We thank all of our patients, colleagues across our organisation and those who work with us at the Primary Care Network and Integrated Care Board for their involvement in helping us provide the best possible service to our community.

UPDATE FROM THE PENN SURGERY:
As you may know, Dr Faye Boundy and Dr Chloe Duke are both on maternity leave until early 2027. The practice has arranged clinical cover from three new GPs - Dr Andrea Roberts, Dr Kanni Kalidass and Dr Ed Harvey, who will share the medical arrangements on behalf of our colleagues who are on leave. All of these doctors bring a wealth of experience to our existing team and we look forward to working with them for the rest of the year.
