It was great to contribute to this topic that I see in therapy, for an article by Natasha Hines, for HuffPost UK

Some things that happen in relationships happen quickly but others can take effect over a long period of time which is more of the case when it comes to ‘silent divorce’. Know the signs to look out for, how to prevent them and how to navigate keeping your relationship happy, healthy with regular MOTS 💋

I wonder how many people find themselves avoiding talking about ‘the elephant in the room’ in some area of their life.

Yet, if it goes unaddressed it’s likely to linger💋

A brilliant and moving article by Ellen Scott for The Times and Sunday Times sharing her experience of loss of libido and or***ms - how they took a toll on her desire for s*xual intimacy and s*x life - and how she has navigated through to a place where s*x is enjoyable and desirable again. Thank you for sharing your experience and including my comment💋

I’m a COSRT accredited s*x and relationship therapist and founder of The Therapy Yard where we specialise in psychos*xual (s*x) and relationship therapy 💋

What is it?
I and my colleagues provide talking therapy to help people work through a wide range of themes around relationships, s*x, s*xuality, intimacy, confidence and self esteem. We see individuals, couples and partners and a priority is providing a safe and welcoming space for all. We understand that reaching out for therapy can be daunting and many people take time to build up the courage to reach out but rest assured that this is the area in which we are passionate, have spent many years studying and supporting people in.

Who goes to s*x and relationship therapy?
Anyone and everyone! You, me, any of us! It is no different to general psychotherapy in that sense. The difference is we are trained in depth on relationship and s*xual themes and specialise in this.

What happens in the initial and subsequent sessions?
We complete an assessment to understand more about background and reasons for coming to therapy, identify hopes/goals. We use a variety of therapeutic theories, approaches and tools to help explore, understand and overcome issues or difficulties. Many come to understand more about themselves and what they want or to explore options or enhance their lives or relationships.

How many sessions will I need?
This does vary from person to person but I generally find that weekly therapy is most effective when starting and then moving to fortnightly sessions. If you are looking for short term therapy eg. 6-8 sessions then you can let your therapist know so that they can adapt the therapy to maximise resources in and out of the sessions. Some people prefer open ended therapy, mid term or longer term therapy - everyone and their circumstances differ.

How do I find the right therapist for me?
Feeing that you have the right therapist is very important. The TheThe Therapy Yard help with finding the right fit for you. You can also book directly online if you prefer to at www.thetherapyyard.co.uk

I had a fabulous day today learning about AI and therapy at the COSRT summer conference. It was a really fantastic day with engaging speakers on a fascinating and time relevant topic. And as ever so wonderful to catch up with some of my brilliant colleagues - Michelle, Lina, Nariman, Sienna, Jill and Bjorn, and all my peers and fellow training buddies and teachers over the years. Being in a room with so many people full of passion about what we do never fails inspire me 💋

Great to contribute to this brilliant article by Ellen Scott for alongside Anna Richards, about things women wish partners could know when it comes to s*x. Themes include desire, enjoying s*x, or***ms, listening to what women want, pleasure not duty, lightening the domestic load and s*x toys.

It’s amazing how things can really shift when we look through a lens of pleasure and create the right conditions 💋
