It was lovely to catch up with a few of you at our Navigating Together coffee morning yesterday. Our theme was "Navigating the specific challenges of the Easter holidays" The change of routine, excitement and chocolate eggs can be difficult for neurodiverse children to manage.
For those who couldn't make it, here a couple of my favorite tips:
1. Regulate yourself- read our winter newsletter post Why your regulation matters in Parenting here:
https://www.rachael-kellett.co.uk/regulation-parenting-neurodiverse-children/
2. A fun task with the family during the holidays. Get all family members to write down their top 20 list of things they would like to do in the holidays. Then bring all the lists together and look for similarities. Is there something everyone wants to do? Is there something at least one parent and one child wants to do? Only agree to things that at least one parent will enjoy doing.
Do you have a favourite tip for the holidays?
