That’s right, not only are there hands-on activities, games, prizes, and shopping at PURR Day Out, but we will have live speaker sessions and demos as well!!

First up may we introduce Alison Spencer, Reiki Practitioner, who will be speaking at 1pm 😻

Alison has been a Reiki practitioner since November 2022, trained in Usui/Holy Fire® III World Peace Reiki to First and Second Degree. In 2025, she followed her passion for helping animals by becoming qualified in ICRT Animal Reiki at First and Second Degree.

Alison is passionate about creating a calm, peaceful and nurturing space where animals can simply be themselves. Animal Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive complementary therapy that can support relaxation, comfort and overall wellbeing, and may be especially beneficial for animals experiencing stress, illness, recovery, changes in their environment or later life.

Her approach is always gentle and respectful, allowing each animal to choose how they interact with the Reiki and meeting them exactly where they are.

I’m holding another group reiki session at The The Wellbeing Hut, Bishopbriggs on Saturday 19 September 2-3pm.

Tickets £13.50 pp and you also get to pick a crystal of your choice to take home.

One of the things I often notice after an animal Reiki session is that they like to have a good nap afterwards.

Reiki can be a very relaxing experience for animals, and many will simply find a quiet spot and sleep for a while once their session is finished. I always find it interesting to see how differently each animal responds.

This is our cat Oscar, having a Reiki nap. ❤️😊

We got Oscar from Cats Protection 4 weeks ago today, and he really enjoys his Reiki sessions. He was very relaxed afterwards and clearly ready for a sleep!

Sometimes the simplest response says it all. ❤️

A New Solar Eclipse, Energy and A Moment to Pause

With the solar eclipse taking place tomorrow Wednesday 12 August, it feels like an opportunity to pause and reflect on our energy and wellbeing.

It’s got me thinking about energy, wellbeing and the different chapters we move through in life.

So many of you come to me for Reiki when you’re feeling depleted, overwhelmed, emotionally heavy, or simply in need of some time to pause and reset.

And one thing I’ve come to appreciate through my work is that our wellbeing begins with becoming aware of our own energy.

You don’t need to practise Reiki to do that.

Sometimes it’s simply noticing:

What gives me energy?
What drains me?
When do I need to slow down?
What am I holding onto that I’m ready to release?
What would help me feel more balanced and more like myself?

I’m taking it as an opportunity to reflect on the year that’s passed, be grateful for the people who have crossed my path, and think about what I want to carry forward into this next chapter.

And that includes all of you who have trusted me enough to share your energy, your stories and your journeys with me.

Whether you receive Reiki, practise it yourself, or simply enjoy taking a little time for your wellbeing, perhaps tomorrow you can give yourself a few quiet moments to breathe, ground and check in with yourself.

You don’t have to do anything special.

Just pause.
Listen.
And notice what you need.

For me, a day of gratitude, reflection, release and new beginnings.

Sending love and Reiki energy to you all.
