BEFORE vs AFTER… the reality of childcare! 🧒

Before: A beautifully set-up farm animal tray, everything in its place and looking picture perfect.

After: Animals everywhere, textures completely mixed together and the carefully planned set-up officially unrecognisable! 🙈

But the “after” picture means so much more to us than the “before”. A messy tray means the children have been busy learning, exploring and developing through play!

The children explored the different textures, mixed and moved materials, filled and emptied containers, moved the farm animals through the tray using sounds and expressive language, and created their own little farm scenarios. Through simple play, they were developing their fine motor skills, communication, imagination, curiosity and understanding of the world, which shows us the best outcome.. mess = success! ❤️

Last night’s solar eclipse was such a special opportunity to take our learning beyond the setting. 🌙

After making their own eclipse viewing boxes with us, we absolutely loved receiving photos from some of our families showing the children using them at home to safely experience the eclipse for themselves.

These are the moments that make learning so meaningful — taking something we have explored together and continuing that curiosity at home, while creating some very special memories along the way.

Partnership working with our families is such an important part of what we do, and seeing the children share these experiences with the people they love means so much to us. ❤️

Getting ready for tonight’s Solar Eclipse! 🌞🌑

The children have been busy creating their own solar eclipse viewing boxes, ready to take home and enjoy this special event with their families tonight!

They decorated their boxes before helping to construct their viewers, while learning about what a solar eclipse is, why it happens and what we might see tonight.

This activity encouraged lots of curiosity, prediction and discussion, while developing the children’s understanding of the world, creativity and fine-motor skills. What an amazing moment to experience with their loved ones! 🥰

We’ve included a tutorial for any of our lovely families who would like to make their own viewer at home. In London, the partial eclipse begins at around 6:17pm, reaches its maximum at approximately 7:13pm, and ends at around 8:06pm. We hope you enjoy watching tonight! 🌒

A little Easter catch-up! 🐣

Although we’re a few days late, we couldn’t miss the chance to share some of the lovely moments from our Easter celebrations! 💛

The children had a fantastic time taking part in a range of Easter-themed activities, from creative crafts to easter egg hunts,. It was wonderful to see their excitement, curiosity, and imagination shine through in everything they did!

We especially loved watching their confidence grow as they tried new things, worked together, and proudly shared their creations with us.
