Karly Proverbs Osteopathy

Karly Proverbs Osteopathy General Osteopathic Council Registered Osteopath, Specialist Paediatric Osteopath, Mummy MOT Certified Practioner and FEDANT Registered Infant Feeding Coach.

Osteopaths are experts in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of back, neck, joint and muscle pain. We believe everyone can benefit from a tailored, whole-person approach to health. Osteopaths are highly trained healthcare professionals who take time to understand your individual history, circumstances and unique physiology, to provide you with a personalised health improvement plan. Health im

provement plans generally include manual therapy, health information, self-management advice and support and exercise therapy, as determined by the individual needs of the patient. Osteopaths are statutorily regulated primary healthcare professionals. We are trained to screen for medical conditions and will tell you if you need to see another health professional such as your doctor or midwife. How can Osteopathy help you? Osteopathic patients range from children to older people to pregnant women. Osteopathy can help with the following conditions:

Aches and pains
Arthritic pain
Back pain
Circulatory problems
Cramp
Digestion problems
Frozen shoulder/ shoulder and elbow pain/ tennis elbow
Headache arising from the neck
Joint pains
Lumbago
Migraine prevention
Minor sports injuries
Muscle spasms
Neck pain
Tension and inability to relax
Rheumatic pain
Sciatica

How can I help you? I see people of all ages but have a particular interest in treating new and expectant mothers. A woman’s body undergoes significant change during pregnancy and in the post-partum period. Those changes include the softening of ligaments, weight increase and changes to posture. This can lead to additional pressure on joints in various parts of the body, including the spine or pelvis. Osteopathy may help relieve pregnancy related stresses and strains. I am also a FEDANT registered Infant Feeding Coach (also known as a Breastfeeding Counsellor). As an Infant Feeding Coach, I enjoy working with new and expectant mothers to achieve their feeding goals. My advice includes helping women to make informed choices about feeding their baby, teaching women how to hand express antenatally and how to position and latch their baby for effective milk transfer.

My daughter loves to draw and doodle and in the last few days she has created a series of ‘love’ post it notes which made me stop and think about what has mattered most in 2025 ❤️

This year has been full of ups and downs as is the nature of life but love has been there throughout. Love has got me through the more challenging times and it has made the good times even better. The love of my family, my friends, my community and my work.

As 2025 draws to a close, I wish you a 2026 that is filled with love because at the end of the day, love is more powerful than we often realise.

I’ve had lots of new followers recently after being tagged by in a message I sent to her about how osteopaths with specific pelvic health and CS scar therapy training can help women after giving birth by CS.

I thought I’d say a quick hello and introduce myself to my new followers and say a big thank you to everyone who’s followed me for a while.

I hope you find my page helpful. Thanks for being here 🙏🏻

Two weeks ago today I took my little boy to the GP after school because he was unusually thirsty and had been going for a wee at night for a few nights in a row which is very out of character for him. The GP tested his urine and did a finger prick test and within no time at all we were at the PRUH where he was admitted and formally diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. The care we have received and continue to receive from the NHS and the Paediatric Diabetic Medical Team is amazing and I am so grateful to them. A massive thank you to the nurses, dietitian, consultant paediatricians, play therapists and everyone else at the PRUH, you are wonderful.

It's been a very busy time and I've had to learn how to carbohydrate count, calculate insulin doses, how to give injections, how to change his continuous glucose monitor, how to do finger prick tests for blood glucose and ketones and check him every three hours at night among many other things. I'm also trying to juggle the emotions of a little boy who is coming to terms with his diagnosis and those of his twin sister which has also been challenging. I'm working with his school while they take over his care during school hours, we hope this transition should be complete by the end of the week.

I've tried to reply to as many emails as possible but I do appreciate there are some items that are outstanding for which I apologise. Please bear with me and I will get these to you as soon as I can.

To everyone who has Type 1 Diabetes, I had no idea how many decisions you have to make on a daily basis, what hypos and hypers involve and how to count carbohydrates. You are amazing.

Thank you to everyone who shared my post and got in touch! I have been absolutely overwhelmed with emails and DMs - the response has been amazing! I've booked two lovely CS mamas in (it was done on a first come/first serve basis) and I have created a waitlist.

I'd love to know if you would like me to share what I learn with you - are there any questions you have in particular? If so, please send me a DM with your question/questions and I will do my best to prepare some information to help you on your journey towards recovery.

Thank you again for all your help, I am so grateful!

As an osteopath and Mummy MOT practitioner, I regularly talk to patients about scar massage and the impact scars can have on their bodies. I can’t wait to elevate my knowledge further and become a C-Section Scar Specialist!
