We’re so excited to welcome back a familiar face to Riverdale, the wonderful Sam, who will be joining us for an afternoon of live music and entertainment! 🎤🎶 Our residents always have such a fantastic time when Sam visits, so we can’t wait to have him back!

🇬🇷🍽️ And of course, no trip to Greece would be complete without some delicious Greek food! Our residents will be able to enjoy a taste of Greece as part of our Mamma Mia celebrations.

We’ll also have a tombola with some lovely prizes to be won! 🎟️🎁

Expect plenty of singing, dancing, delicious food, laughter and, of course, some Mamma Mia magic! 🪩💃💙

Family and friends are very welcome to join us — the more the merrier! 🥰

Our lovely ladies at Riverdale Manor enjoyed a relaxing morning of flower arranging, creating some beautiful displays while enjoying each other’s company. 🌷🌼

Of course, our gorgeous Doris had us all giggling when she decided to hide behind one of the vases of flowers! 😂🌺 She certainly knows how to make herself and everyone around her smile. 🥰

☀️ A Lovely Trip Out to Bedale Markets 🛍️☕🍰

This morning, Jill and Joan enjoyed a lovely trip out with Marge to Bedale Markets. We had a wander around the different stalls, enjoying the fresh air and being out and about in our local community. 🥰

As we made our way around the town, the ladies recognised lots of familiar places around Bedale, which sparked some lovely memories and conversations about times they had visited the town in the past. It was wonderful listening to them reminisce and share their stories. 💭💗

Of course, no trip out is complete without a little treat! We made a quick stop at The Sprouted Kitchen for a well-deserved coffee and some delicious cake. ☕🍰

Yesterday afternoon, we put our residents’ senses to the test with a fun sensory “Guess That Smell” challenge! 🥰

Marge prepared 16 surprise ingredients from the kitchen, hiding each one in a cup before making her way around our residents to see how many smells they could recognise! 👃☕🌿

Everyone had a really good go, and it was wonderful to see just how much conversation each scent sparked. 💭❤️ Different ingredients brought back memories of cooking and baking, favourite recipes and time spent in the kitchen. Some of our residents even shared stories about past jobs involving cooking and baking, while others reminisced about baking as a much-loved hobby. 🧁👩‍🍳

One of the loveliest parts was seeing residents who weren't too sure about joining in at first soon becoming curious and getting involved too! 🥰 There were plenty of guesses, a few surprises and lots of smiles along the way.

A simple sensory activity turned into such a lovely afternoon of reminiscence, conversation and connection. ❤️✨
