⛔️Red Heat Health Alert: Keeping Our Clients Safe ☀️
With an Amber Heat Health Alert now in place and temperatures expected to rise significantly over the coming days, our team is taking extra steps to help keep clients safe, comfortable, and well at home.
Our Community Care Assistants will be:
💧 Encouraging regular hydration throughout visits, whether that’s water, tea, coffee, squash, jelly, ice lollies, or other preferred fluids.
🏠 Helping to keep homes cool by drawing curtains during the hottest parts of the day and supporting clients with safe ventilation where appropriate.
🤝 Taking time to sit and enjoy a drink together, making hydration a relaxed and social part of each visit.
❤️ Providing reassurance, monitoring wellbeing, and helping clients recognise the signs of heat-related illness.
Hot weather can pose serious health risks, particularly for older adults and vulnerable individuals. That’s why our CCAs go beyond practical support, ensuring clients remain safe, comfortable, and cared for throughout periods of extreme heat.
We also encourage families, friends, and neighbours to check in on loved ones and ensure they are drinking enough fluids during the heatwave.
Stay cool, stay hydrated, and look after one another. ☀️🍦🌸✨
