Lauren Aimée - Yoga & Movement

Lauren Aimée - Yoga & Movement Bedford based Yoga Teacher and movement practitioner celebrating free intuitive movement and creativity, in a safe welcoming environment Hi! x

My name is Lauren Aimée and I am a Yoga teacher and movement practitioner based in Bedfordshire, UK. I have a passion for free movement, which began when I was dancer at University of Lincoln. Whilst studying, I completed my Yoga Teacher Training in 2017 (Bahia Yoga Studios) to investigate how I can unite the fluidity and expressivity of dance, with the mindful awareness of Yoga. I progressed on t

o achieve an MA in Dance, Performance & Choreography (University of Bedfordshire) where I was able to explore these ideas more creatively. I love to experiment within the realms of moving unconsciously, improvisation using the senses and thinking with the body. In a typical class, you will be guided to listen to your body, listen to the internal sensations and allow them to manifest in movement. Learning to let go of what that movement might look like but observing how it feels. Through this I developed my Yogance Playshops. Yogance is a practice, not only for dancers, but for anyone who want to move. It combines the focus, alignment and structure of the asanas with the freedom, expressivity and fluidity of dance. Mixing this with music allows us to explore what it is like to move from within. This has also since been condensed in to a weekly Mindful Flow class, my signature class where we explore these themes on a smaller scale. No dance experience is required, I simply encourage my students to move and express how they are feeling, I am there merely as a guide. Nowadays, I continue my movement research, but whilst also making it accessible for everyone. My classes are open to ALL. Every shape, age, race, gender. Everyone is welcome and I strive to provide an inclusive environment. I’m a firm advocate of body positivity. You don’t need to be a specific size or shape to begin your practice, and I encourage all to observe your body and all the wonderful things it can do. Have I convinced you enough to join a class yet? Message me to get involved! Hope to see you on the mat soon!

silly girl summer hunnies… are you still there? 🥺

burnt out, illness and mild business disasters put a pause on all the fun for the past month or so, and what I envisioned on being a fun, vibrant summer turned into a not-so-fun rollercoaster where my nervous system has been in constant fight or flight 😬

but it seems as though I’m slowly finding steady ground again…

and I’m hoping it’s not too late to see out this summer in the silliest of ways 👀

Silly Girl Summer Party anyone…? pls…? 👀😅🦋

I am blown away by all your kindness, fully embracing this as not only my revival, but OURS 🫶

I’ll be letting the dust settle over the next few weeks, but I’m so excited to see what this new season and new home has to offer ✨🦋

waving goodbye to Verve Wellness Studio by looking back over the years! ❤️

there’s so much more I could’ve included… the many calm collectives, Yogance playshops, corporate yoga events, bespoke events and so on and so forth!

since 2019 this space has held me, held us all, through many different seasons, evolutions, experimentations, not only in our yoga journeys, but our journeys beyond the mat too…

taking a deep dive into the archives for this post and looking back on baby me having no idea what she was doing (still don’t!) but continuing to show up anyway, and slowly you lovely lot did too!

so many faces have come through those studio doors and I’m grateful for you all!

but of course, while our space changes, we take pieces of this with us… the energy, the community, the courage, the creativity, and begin a new era at Box End Physiotherapy where I’m sure there will be many more evolutions for us all to come! 🦋

come on revival season, show us how good it gets 🚀

when your community holds you just as much you hold them 🥹

so grateful to this gorgeous bunch who showed up to the last Calm Collective in this space last week, the news was fresh and I was deep in the feels trying to find solid ground again

I’ve always said teaching yoga is what grounds me most, that’s how I know truly that this is what I was put on this earth to do

I was always taught to leave your own worries & stress outside the door when it comes to leading practices, as it’s not for you, it’s for the people infront of you, but sometimes, amongst all the uncertainty, it’s no surprise that external factors bleed into the practice, and I’m so grateful that these souls were able to hold me whilst I readied myself again to hold them 😌🫶✨

our calm collectives are on pause.. for now 👀
