Meningitis B is a rare but serious bacterial infection that can cause inflammation of the lining of the brain and spinal cord. If you or your child develop symptoms that could suggest meningitis, seek urgent medical advice straight away from TDPG Clinical Team by submitting a System Connect or by phone.

If symptoms are severe, please contact 111 or attend Accident and Emergency.

Early treatment can make a significant difference.

• fever,
• severe headache,
• neck stiffness,
• sensitivity to light,
• vomiting,
• rash that doesn’t fade when pressed.

Babies and young children may show different signs, such as a high-pitched cry, poor feeding, or unusual drowsiness.

For we encourage those eligible between the ages of 25 and 64 to attend regular cervical screening appointments when invited.

Cervical screening is one of the best ways to protect yourself from cervical cancer as it checks a sample of cells from your cervix for high risk types of human papillomavirus (PHV) which can cause abnormal change to the cells in your cervix.

For more information visit https://www.nhs.uk/tests-and-treatments/cervical-screening/

Did you know there are many different types of dementia?

Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia and dementia with Lewy bodies are four of the most common forms of dementia, and they can all affect people differently.

This is our guide to a few of the most common symptoms for each illness.

Dementia looks different for everyone, so a person’s symptoms may not look exactly as they are described here.

However by knowing the signs, we can make sure that we don’t brush off or ignore some of these lesser-known symptoms, to help everyone with dementia get a crucial early diagnosis.

Save this post for later, and if you’d like more info visit our website or give our Dementia Support Line a call on 0333 150 3456.
