I had a productive few hours in the kitchen this weekend making a few homemade bits for the week. The sweet treats get frozen and can be popped straight into lunch boxes in the morning. The granola keeps well in an airtight container and I usually give it to the girls with yoghurt and compote for breakfast, and the pesto pasta and bread rolls make lunches that little bit easier.

When you have the time a bit of weekend prep can make the week run much more smoothly!

The UK government plans to remove high-sugar foods and reduce ultra-processed options from school menus to help improve children’s health.

If I’m honest, I haven’t been happy with the menus at my children’s school for the last few years. The options and portion sizes often meant my daughter came home hungry and really grumpy because she just wasn’t filled up.

That’s why I started sending packed lunches, so I know she’s getting something nutritious that will sustain her energy and keep her full throughout the school day. Although I know this isn’t an option for all parents, which is why for some children their school lunch may be the only proper meal they get all day — especially for families from disadvantaged backgrounds — so it really does need to be a good, nourishing one.

Let’s just hope the changes are guided by proper evidence-based nutrition, because improving school meals should be about supporting children’s energy, satiety and overall health, not just removing sugar.

Happy International Women’s Day 💛

Being a strong woman isn’t just about career success or proving we can do everything.

For me, it’s about the example we set at home.

I’m proud to be raising two strong girls, and what matters most to me is that they see real equality — not just hear about it.

They see me studying, building a small business, and contributing to our family in lots of different ways. But they also see something just as important: partnership.

Because contribution to a family isn’t just about money. It’s about raising children, running a home, supporting each other and creating a happy life together.

Many women today are balancing work, family life and the mental load that comes with keeping everything running. It’s a lot to carry, and it’s no surprise that so many women end up feeling exhausted or burnt out.

Many of the women who come to see me are dealing with stress and overwhelm, often from trying to juggle so many different roles.

The relationship you model is the relationship your children learn from.

The partner you choose is the example your daughters may one day accept — and the example your sons may one day follow.

So today I’m celebrating strong women, supportive partners, and families where everyone contributes in their own way.

Because showing our children respect, balance and partnership at home might be one of the most powerful lessons we can give them.

Happy International Women’s Day 🌸

I thrive on fresh starts, and last year, setting intentions for adventure and living my values made it amazing!

It’s not for everyone — especially if life feels full or tough right now — and that’s completely fine.

Whether you set resolutions or not, here’s to a joyful, healthy, and happy 2026!
