Today we started our new activities program designed to improve physical and mental wellbeing. Everyday something different from arts and crafts, cookery, dancing, exercises and much more! Big thanks to everyone for the live performances, exercise classes and more!

Today we painted Santa and the residents had lots of fun! 🎨🎨💖💖

‘We salute all our residents who have served in the Armed forces’

‘Spotlight on a resident’......... This week, we are celebrating Alf’s journey.





Celebrating National Armed Forces Week!

Alf, one of our residents served in the Armed Forces. Alf was too young to join the Army so in 1945 he served with the Home Guard prior to the end of WW2. In 1948 he joined the Grenadier Guards and would serve with them until 1970. During this time he served in many locations including West Germany, The Cameroons, Ghana and Libya.

Alf had a varied career, also carrying out public duties Guarding the Royal Palaces and taking part in Trooping the Colour.

Alf left the Army in 1970 as a Warrant Officer (Sergeant Major) and took up a job with the Bedfordshire Army Cadet Force as the County Training Officer, where he worked until his retirement. A total of over 51 years in uniform!

Alf's two sons both followed him into the Army, joined the Grenadier Guards, and also left as Warrant Officers!
