Feeling unsure about care is common.

Families often have questions before they know what they need.

Is now the right time? How much support would be enough? What will it cost? Will Mum or Dad accept help? Can visits work around existing routines?

You do not need every answer before having a conversation. Gathering information can help your family feel calmer, clearer, and better prepared.

Care decisions should move at a pace that respects the person receiving support.

Start with a conversation, not a commitment.

✨ Awards Night Excitement! ✨
This week, we’re incredibly proud to be heading to the SME Awards as finalists for Business of the Year and Employer of the Year 🎉
Both of these categories mean so much to us. Of course, building a successful business is important—but what truly matters is how we do it. We’ve always believed that success comes from creating a workplace where people feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.
Being recognised for Employer of the Year reflects something we are deeply passionate about—being a great place to work. We invest in our team, offer meaningful training and development, and create an environment where everyone feels part of something bigger.
At the heart of everything we do is our belief that we are more than just a team—we are a family in every sense. 💙
To also be recognised for Business of the Year is a real testament to the dedication, passion, and hard work of every single person in our organisation.
Wish us luck for Thursday—we’re so proud to be finalists, whatever the outcome! 🤞✨

Warmer June days can affect older adults in small but important ways.

A few practical changes can help your parent feel more comfortable at home, from keeping drinks close by to planning outings at cooler times of day. It is also worth checking whether meals, medication routines, clothing, and room temperature still feel manageable.

If the warmer weather is making everyday routines harder, extra support at home may help.

Save this guide for June and share it with family members.

Myth: Home care is only for people who live alone.

Fact: Many older adults receive care while living with a spouse, partner, adult child, or nearby family.

Home care can support the whole household. It might help with personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, appointments, or simply creating a more organised weekly routine.

It can also give family members reassurance, especially when they are balancing work, children, distance, or other responsibilities.

Care at home is not about replacing family support. It can sit alongside it.

Ask how visits could fit around your household.

What can dementia care at home include?

Dementia care is not one single type of support. It can include calm routines, familiar surroundings, meal support, medication reminders, personal care, companionship, and reassurance during the day.

It can also include clear communication with family, so everyone understands what is working well and where extra support may be helpful.

For someone living with dementia, consistency matters. A patient Care Professional can help the day feel more manageable while protecting dignity and personal choice.

You may already have qualities that suit a role in care.

Patience, reliability, calm communication, careful listening, and noticing small details all matter during a visit. Care Professionals support older adults with practical help, companionship, and familiar routines, while building trust over time.

It is a responsible role, but it can suit people who are steady, thoughtful, and committed to doing things properly.

National Cancer Survivor’s Day is a time to recognise strength, care, and continued support.

For many people, life after cancer treatment still involves practical adjustments. There may be appointments to attend, meals to prepare, medication routines to follow, or days when extra reassurance is welcome.

Support at home can help older adults keep to familiar routines while families feel more informed and involved.

Care should always be patient, respectful, and centred on the person, not just their condition.

Talk to us about care that works around recovery, routines, and family needs.

Small changes can help an older parent drink more in warmer weather.

Try placing a drink within easy reach before you leave the room. Offer water with meals. Use a favourite mug or glass if that feels more familiar. Add fruit slices if plain water is not appealing.

After warmer afternoons, a gentle check-in can help too: “Have you had much to drink today?”

These little prompts can support comfort without making the conversation feel clinical.

Save this as a simple June reminder for family visits.
