Menโ€™s Health Week is a great time to learn more about cancers that only affect men ๐Ÿ’™

Some cancers specifically affect men, including prostate, testicular and pe**le cancer. These cancers develop in parts of the male reproductive system and can affect people at different stages of life ๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธ

For example:
โ€ข Prostate cancer starts in the prostate gland and is the most common cancer in men in the UK
โ€ข Testicular cancer often affects younger men and may present as a lump or swelling
โ€ข Pe**le cancer is rare but can develop on or under the fo****in

Treatments can vary depending on the type and stage of cancer, but may include surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy, with support available throughout ๐Ÿ’™

Itโ€™s important to know your body and speak to a healthcare professional if something doesnโ€™t feel right. Early detection can make a big difference ๐Ÿ‘

This message is inclusive of trans women and non-binary people (assigned male at birth), who can also be affected by these cancers and should feel supported to seek advice ๐Ÿ’™

โค๏ธ Give blood. Save lives.

Donating blood is one of the simplest ways you can make a life-saving difference. Every donation can help patients in emergencies, during surgery, or those living with long-term conditions ๐Ÿ’‰

Itโ€™s quick, safe and takes around an hour, but the impact can last a lifetime. In fact, one donation can help save up to three lives ๐Ÿ™Œ

Most people aged 17โ€“65 who are fit and healthy can donate, and youโ€™ll be fully supported through the process to make sure itโ€™s safe for you and the patient ๐Ÿ‘

Blood is always in high demand, and new donors are needed all the time to make sure thereโ€™s enough for everyone who needs it ๐Ÿ’™

Worried about how much screen time is too much for your child? Youโ€™re not alone ๐Ÿ’™

New UK guidance helps parents and carers build healthy screen habits for children under 5 in a simple, realistic way ๐Ÿ‘

For younger children:
โ€ข Under 2s โ€“ avoid screen time where possible, except for shared activities like video calls or looking at photos together
โ€ข Ages 2โ€“5 โ€“ aim for no more than 1 hour a day, and less if possible โฑ๏ธ

Itโ€™s not just about time, but how screens are used. Choosing slow-paced, age-appropriate content and watching together can support learning and development ๐Ÿ“บ

Too much screen time can take away from the things that matter most at this age, like sleep, play, and time spent talking with parents and carers ๐Ÿงธ

Try setting simple boundaries like no screens at mealtimes or before bed, and swap screen time for activities like reading, playing, or chatting together ๐Ÿ“š
