👍 Why do some babies suck their thumb before they're even born? It might look adorable on a scan, but there's actually a reason for it.

Sucking is a completely normal reflex that begins developing during pregnancy. As your baby grows, they may suck their thumb or fingers in the womb, helping them practise the sucking and swallowing movements they'll use for feeding after birth.

It's just one of the many amazing ways babies prepare for life outside the womb, long before they're born.
