Wanted to share a little amphifany with you all because it involves what I do and all you amazing people who follower, book and recommend me....
I had a wee thought that has came to highlight a big contrast about myself on a personal level.
When I was younger, I didn't want to be the centre, I didn't really feel comfortable with fuss. I loved sitting in my room drawing, listening to music, looking at my candles and rubbing my small selection of crystals that I stored carefully in a heart shaped box (I should have realised then what my life would be like now π).
I knew I was good at art, but would never push myself to do much with it except for my children's birthdays...I would paint large characters depending on what their birthday party theme was...I even painted my living room as Gotham city for a birthday party. The art was for me or my kids...noone else really.
I did martial arts and did a couple of wee demonstrations and helped teach...I was really good at ju-jistu, I knew my technique was on form, I was dedicated...I knew my s**t. But I didn't really like being watched doing it.
I was really good at debates, so much so some people around me said I would have made a good lawyer but the thought of all eyes on me while making points wasn't my thing.
Teaching...I always wanted to teach, I played schools when I was younger, even trained as a teacher...but the interview panel scene really put me off.
So ive came to realise that I never really liked being fully seen. Not because I was never encouraged or supported...omg my family are my biggest supporters but because im naturally shy (until you get to know me). I would always be the one to recomend or tell of someone elses amazing talent. With that shyness ive held back soo much over my years.
Even when I first properly got onto the spiritual path...I didnt want to use the word psychic. Even though I knew I was. Infact...child nicola was always a little psychic, a little medium....I knew the songs that would come on, I dreamt of people who would die, I was able to pick up on things, see spirit, connect without really knowing what I was doing...then I got into developing this. I was doing readings and healings but never really wanted to fully use the psychic label. Why....because I didnt want eyes on me and I didnt expect me to get to this stage.
Obviously there has been a certain part of me that has fully accepted the psychic, medium label and im completely out of the spiritual closet and have been for many, many years now. I teach, I offer services, ive even did my own demonstrations as well as been guest medium in demonstrations, been asked to do house parties, events etc ..I love what I do. You cant separate what I do from who I am...but the point im getting to is...
I still am blown away and caught off guard when I hear that people have recommended me, the feedback I get, the thanks etc...I dont think I will ever not be grateful for these moments but ive realised there's still that shy part of me that shrinks or is ok about shrinking to only fit a smaller version of what I know I can be. And that is stopping.
Don't get me wrong...im not ego driven...I tell each person who asks me how did I get into all this....you can do it too if you just worked at it. Anyone can do reiki if they wanted to, everyone has intuition...you just have to want to develop it and be prepared to do the work....thats it...
Reality is, I love what I do, I get a bit shy but very blown away by all your kind words, feedback and recommendations ...i was recently told that i was talk of a room for about 30 mins about my services and how each person loved their time with me which absolutely blew me away!!! It made me realise that beyond the session there is chats and talk that I will never know is happening, and this is a part of word of mouth and recommendations. And wow ive had soo many people come to me through recommendations and feedback...this is the bit I need to just soak all in and enjoy and not get a little shy about.
I really am always very grateful, happy, and very touched by the lovely comments, feedback, support and recommendations. What i do is special, sharing it with you all makes it even more special so me and the bit that im getting my head wrapped around, even after all these years is that it amazes and makes me so thankful for those who do recommend me to others...who go out if their way to encourage and support me.
I WAS a very introvert person. But I absolutely love seeing each one of you, getting to know you all and being of service to you all. Ive gotten to meet fantastic, lovely people along my journey and as I continue my journey, im excited to meet more.
Connection is everything! I deeply care about each one who comes to me, I genuinely want the best for you all...even though at times i have to tell yous off a little during your readings π each session is about you!
So thank you...thank you for giving me space me to shine my light...so then help you all to shine yours. How beautiful would this world be if we all did that! For spreading the word so I can continue to do what I love to do.
The difference between younger me and me now is that ive allowed myself to be seen...it was accidently and unexpectedly at the start but one of the most lovely, liberating and freeing journey ive been on.
So...dont be a younger nicola whoe rather hides their talents....be the older one who shares it with the world...because you never know who its going to help and needs it.
Well, thats my deep thought for a late Saturday night π
Love
Nic π
