🚨🚨🚨 Important Update Regarding Pool Hoist Access 🚨🚨🚨
Hi everyone,
We are writing to let you know about an important change affecting access to our hydrotherapy pool for those who rely on the poolside hoist.
Following a recent inspection, our existing pool hoist was found to no longer meet the required safety standards and has been taken out of service with immediate effect. While this is extremely disappointing, the safety of our clients and staff must always come first.
Unfortunately, we have since been advised that the hoist cannot be repaired and requires full replacement. The estimated cost of a new hoist is between £15,000 and £20,000.
As a social enterprise, we work hard to keep hydrotherapy affordable, charging just £45 per session so that as many people as possible can benefit from the service. While this enables us to support hundreds of people each year, it also means we do not have the financial reserves to fund an unexpected replacement of this scale. At present, we have been unable to secure funding for a new hoist.
We fully appreciate the impact this will have on those who depend on the hoist to access the pool, and we are truly sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience this causes. We know hydrotherapy plays an important role in many people's health, wellbeing and independence, and we understand how frustrating and upsetting this news may be.
Please be assured that we are actively exploring every possible avenue to replace the hoist. This includes applying for funding, approaching charitable trusts, seeking support from corporate partners and local businesses, and investigating alternative equipment that may provide a safe and more affordable solution.
If you are able to access the pool safely without the hoist, your sessions can continue as normal. If you rely on the hoist, we will keep your details on our priority contact list and update you as soon as we have any progress to share.
We also wanted to ask for your help. If you have any connections with corporate donors, charitable funders, local businesses, community organisations, or individuals who may be willing to support us with this unexpected cost, we would be incredibly grateful if you could put us in touch. Every conversation, introduction or contribution could help us get our accessible hydrotherapy service back up and running for those who rely on it most.
This hydrotherapy pool exists because of the support of our community, and we remain committed to ensuring it continues to provide life-changing therapy for everyone who needs it. Thank you for your understanding, patience and continued support. We will keep you updated on our progress and sincerely hope to restore full accessibility as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
The Crescent Vitality Team
