A huge thank you to all care staff who continued working through the difficulties and disruption last night. Despite challenging circumstances, our carers still did their best to reach vulnerable people who rely on them every day.π
Unfortunately, the disorder and road disruptions have had a real impact on some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Many people depend on care workers for essential support, medication, meals, welfare checks, assistance to remain safe and independent in their own home, and those individuals requiring palliative care. When staff are delayed or unable to reach those they support, it can leave vulnerable individuals frightened, isolated, and at risk.
We ask everyone to consider the wider consequences of actions that prevent essential workers from carrying out their duties.
Behind every delayed journey is a vulnerable person waiting for help, reassurance, or vital care.
We are incredibly proud of our staff for their dedication and commitment in difficult circumstances, and we appeal to everyone in the community to ensure that carers and other frontline workers can continue to reach those who need them most.
The vulnerable in our communities should never be the ones who suffer as a result unrest. π
