πŸ”Ά SPOTTING THE SIGNS OF WOMB CANCER πŸ”Ά

June is Womb Cancer Awareness Month. Womb (endometrial) cancer is the most common gynaecological cancer β€” and early detection makes a real difference.

⚠️ Key symptom:
β€’ Unexpected bleeding
β€’ Bleeding after menopause (even once)
β€’ Bleeding between periods
β€’ Heavier or longer periods
β€’ New bleeding on HRT

πŸ‘‰ Always get any post-menopausal bleeding checked.

πŸ” Other symptoms
β€’ Pelvic pain or discomfort
β€’ Pain during s*x
β€’ Unusual discharge (watery, pink, or with smell)
β€’ Lump/swelling in lower abdomen
β€’ Unexplained weight loss or fatigue
These may not be cancer β€” but it’s important to check.

πŸ’¬ Trust your instincts
You’re never wasting anyone’s time. If something isn’t right, speak to your GP.

While most cancer rates are decreasing, cases of endometrial cancer (also known as uterine or womb cancer) are actually rising. πŸ“ˆ It is also being diagnosed in younger women than before. Despite these facts, knowledge about endometrial cancer is not high in the general population.

πŸ’β€β™€οΈ This June, let’s help change that!

🧑 Let’s encourage everyone you know to show their bodies and their communities some love by learning about endometrial cancer.
🧑 Let’s remind everyone that June is a great month to book that next medical appointment & discuss their health and cancer risk with their doctor!
🧑 Let’s take care of our communities!

Book Club Reminder! Friday 05.06.2026 @ 10.30am in the Macmillan Support and Information Centre. Everyone welcome!
