Lip filler isn’t always about making lips bigger. 💋

In the ageing face, carefully placed dermal filler can be used to restore rather than transform.

As we age, the lips naturally lose volume, definition and structural support. The upper lip can become flatter, the vermilion border less defined, and changes around the mouth can make the lower face appear more tired.

This patient was initially treated with 0.7 ml in January 2026. These photographs show her again approximately 8 months later, when we chose to add a conservative 0.5 ml top-up.

What I particularly like about this result is that she still looks completely like herself. The lips have more support and definition, but they remain in proportion with her face.

For mature patients especially, my approach is not to chase volume. It’s about assessing the whole lower face and using the appropriate amount of product to restore balance, soften age-related changes and maintain natural movement.
