Our Healthier Me Champion Cormac tells us about his role! 🌟

Cormac is one of our Champions here at Mencap NI, and as part of his role he helps individuals with a learning disability to live healthier lives! 🙌

One of the ways Cormac has done this is by starting a walking group in his local area! The group meet weekly, and have even taken part in a park run! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Cormac has also taken part in the Belfast City Marathon relay along with other Healthier Me Champions!

There is so much amazing work being done by Cormac and our other Healthier Me Champions - and we can’t wait to share more stories from them!

We're incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this year's Irish National Sheepdog Trials charity fundraiser such a success.

Thanks to the generosity and hard work of so many people, the Keystone Group marquee dinner in aid of Mencap NI has raised over £40,000.

Our sincere thanks go to The Keystone Group and the Coyle family for choosing to support Mencap NI, to Leo, Jessica and the wider Callow Events team for their commitment and dedication, to ISDS Irish National Sheepdog Trials, and to everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, volunteered and took part.

This remarkable support will help us continue creating opportunities, building connections and providing support for people with a learning disability and their families across Northern Ireland.

Meet Irene! 🌟

Irene has started an exciting new opportunity volunteering at USPCA. 🙌

Irene is enjoying learning all the new parts of her role and particularly loves the fashion in the store, the DVD’s and books. 📚

Irene really enjoys sorting all the donations in the shop and chatting with customers. She is really looking forward to learning new skills in her workplace and meeting lots of new people.

Another Healthier Me workshop delivered! 💜

Healthier Me Coach Emma and three of our Healthier Me Champions, Emma, Bernard, and Keith delivered a Healthier Me Workshop to our Network Partner Fermanagh Brightstarz. 🌟

The workshop covered a wide range of topics such as, physical exercise, healthy eating and wellbeing.

The workshop also included some very fun activities including some physical movement and a making fruit sticks! 🍎

We loved delivering this workshop and can’t wait to deliver more!

📣 Day Care Places Available! 📣
We are delighted to announce that we have a limited number of places available in our children’s centre this September for children aged 2 - 5years with developmental delay.

These places are available in a paid capacity.
Sessions are £30 for 2.5hours, and are available across:

🔸5 days (Monday - Friday)
🔸3 days (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)
🔸2 days (Tuesday and Thursday)

Sessions will run in the mornings from 9:00am and in the afternoons from 12:30pm.

Last month our tenants celebrated all the achievements they have made in the past year at an amazing event in our Omagh offices! 🙌

With marathon relays, drama performances, new cars, birthdays, trips away and so much more - we had so many amazing stories to look back on from the past year!
