Hope everyone managed to get a bit of a breather over the long weekend.
And if you were lucky enough to stretch it out by an extra day, even better.

With September about to kick in, our next Resuscitation Council UK eAdvanced Life Support course is starting to feel a lot closer too.

Taking place on Friday 30 October in Belfast, eALS is designed for healthcare professionals who need Advanced Life Support as part of their clinical role, particularly those working in acute care, emergency, resuscitation and Critical Care Outreach settings.

The course blends a day of e-learning with a full day of face-to-face training, using simulations, workshops and skill stations to work through the areas that matter most when a patient deteriorates and the pressure is on.

That includes:

• Recognising and managing deterioration using an ABCDE approach
• Delivering standardised adult CPR
• Managing cardiac arrest within a multidisciplinary team
• Communication, teamwork and leadership in emergency situations

Our last eALS course filled, so if October has been sitting in the distance looking comfortably far away, this is probably a good time to get your place sorted.

Applicants must hold a professional healthcare qualification or be in training for one.

Full details and booking are available through the Paragon website.

When the seasons change, the site changes with them

For construction and trade teams, the shift into the colder months brings a few extra things to think about.

Wetter surfaces. Shorter daylight. Colder conditions. Busy yards. Tools, ladders, vehicles and manual work continuing regardless of what the weather is doing.

It is a good time to look at whether the people on site know what to do when something goes wrong.

Paragon can deliver First Aid at Work Level 3 training directly at your workplace, with the session shaped around the environment your team actually works in and the risks they are likely to encounter.

The course covers areas including CPR, bleeding, unconsciousness, choking, head injuries, sprains and strains, alongside a wider range of workplace first aid situations.

Bringing the training on site also means your team can learn in a setting that feels relevant to their day-to-day work, rather than trying to apply generic examples afterwards.

If you are reviewing first aid provision as the seasons change, get in touch and we can arrange training around your team and workplace.

Before September gets properly underway

Our next combined training day is coming up on Friday 28 August, with only a few places still available.

For Healthcare Assistants and Nurses working in the NI Health Trusts, this one-day session brings the annual face-to-face essentials together without having to organise several different training dates.

Across the day we’ll cover Basic Life Support and AED Use, Moving and Handling Patients, Pressure Damage Awareness, Fire Safety, and Infection Prevention and Control.

If your training needs brought up to date before autumn gets busy, this is a handy date to get sorted.

Friday 28 August | 09:30
Strand House, 102 Holywood Road, Belfast, BT4 1NU

Places are limited for this session, so we’d recommend getting booked in sooner rather than later.

Full details and booking are available through our website.

Autumn event in the works?

With autumn on the horizon, plenty of organisers will already be putting plans together for September and October events across Northern Ireland.

Community events, sporting fixtures, concerts, corporate functions, seasonal celebrations and larger public gatherings all come with their own considerations, and medical cover is one of the things worth getting organised early.

Paragon Healthcare Services can provide support based around the event you are actually planning, from smaller medical teams for lower-risk occasions through to Nurses, Doctors, Paramedics, treatment facilities and ambulance support where required.

And if you are not quite sure what level of cover your event needs, that is fine too. Tell us a little about the venue, expected attendance and event itself, and our team can help you work through the appropriate provision.

If you have an autumn event coming up, get in touch and let’s get the medical side planned.

For clinicians working where things can change quickly.

Advanced Life Support is about recognising deterioration early, responding appropriately as a patient’s condition changes, and working effectively with the wider clinical team when the pressure is on.

That is what makes ALS such an important part of training for healthcare professionals working in acute and emergency care.

Our next Resuscitation Council UK eAdvanced Life Support (eALS) course is taking place on Friday 30 October in Belfast, and we’d love to have you join us.

eALS combines a day of e-learning with a full day of face-to-face training, giving candidates the chance to build their knowledge before putting it into practice through simulations, workshops and skill stations.

Across the course, candidates will work on:

• Recognising and managing the deteriorating patient using an ABCDE approach
• Delivering standardised adult CPR
• Managing cardiac arrest as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Communication, teamwork and leadership during emergency situations

The course is designed for healthcare professionals who require Advanced Life Support as part of their clinical duties, including doctors, nurses and paramedics working in acute care, emergency, resuscitation and Critical Care Outreach settings.

Applicants must hold a professional healthcare qualification or be in training for one.

If ALS forms part of your role and you’ve been looking for your next course date, we’d be delighted to welcome you to Belfast this October.

Full details and booking are available through the Paragon website.

Training that comes to your team

One of the biggest advantages of on-site training is simple: we bring the session to you.

It means businesses can train staff in a familiar setting, reduce time away from the workplace, and organise sessions around the people who actually need them.

We recently received this feedback following a series of on-site sessions:

“Paragon Health led a series of onsite training for our tenants and business owners. Really informative, lots of great information and great delivery.”

Thanks to Gareth for taking the time to leave such a positive review.

Paragon Healthcare Academy can deliver training on site for businesses and organisations across Northern Ireland, with sessions arranged around your workplace and team requirements.

If you have several staff who need training, or would simply prefer to bring the training to your premises, get in touch and we can talk through the options.

August already?

2026 is flying by, and somehow we are well into the second half of the summer events calendar.

For organisers, that can mean the date that felt ages away is now only a few weeks out, with venues, suppliers, staffing, access, welfare and medical cover all needing brought together.

If you have an event coming up later this summer, now is a good time to make sure the medical side is properly accounted for.

Paragon Healthcare Services provides medical cover for events across Northern Ireland, from smaller community gatherings and corporate functions through to concerts, festivals, sporting events and larger public occasions.

The level of support can be shaped around the event itself, with qualified medical staff, treatment facilities, equipment and ambulance provision available where required.

So, if August has arrived a little quicker than expected and your plans are starting to feel very real, get in touch and we can talk through what your event may need.

Care that needs to hold up in an emergency

Our Tracheostomy and Laryngectomy Care and Emergency Management course for adults is taking place next Friday at Strand House.

Supporting these patients is not limited to routine, day-to-day care. Staff also need to understand their role when circumstances change and an urgent response is required.

This full-day course gives proper attention to both sides of that responsibility, helping healthcare staff prepare for the care patients need every day, as well as the situations where calm and informed action becomes especially important.

Friday 07 August
09:30–16:30
Strand House, 102 Holywood Road, Belfast, BT4 1NU

Only a few places remain for next week’s session.

For anyone whose role involves caring for adults with a tracheostomy or laryngectomy, or managers arranging training for their team, places can be booked through our website.

Not sure what medical cover your event needs?

That is exactly what our event form is there for.

You may have the venue, date and plans taking shape, but still be unsure whether you need a couple of first aiders, a larger medical team, a treatment centre, ambulance support, or something in between.

You do not need to figure that out alone.

Fill in the Event Medical Provision Risk Assessment on our website and tell us a little about what you are planning, including the event type, location, expected attendance, audience and any known risks.

Our team will review the details and help establish an appropriate level of medical cover for your event.

Paragon can support everything from smaller, lower-risk gatherings through to concerts, festivals, sporting events, corporate functions and larger sites requiring Nurses, Doctors, Paramedics, treatment facilities and ambulance support.

Even if the plans are still taking shape, completing the form is a straightforward way to get the conversation started and make sure the medical side is considered early.

Have an event in mind? Complete the form here:
