A little cooking to end the week! 👩‍🍳💜

Today marks the last day of our British and Irish cooking theme, and what better way to finish it off than with a good old Shepherd’s Pie!

And since it’s Friday, we threw in a little dessert too… chocolate fudge cake and ice cream! 🍫🍦

Dan also beat George more times than he could count at the card games! 😂 Looks like the next stop is Vegas! 😜🃏

Lock them up and throw away the key! 😂

As part of our weekly learning topic all about Northern Ireland, today we headed off to Crumlin Road Gaol to learn a little more about one of Belfast’s most famous and historic landmarks.
We had a great tour, plenty of questions were asked and there was lots to see and talk about along the way! It was brilliant being able to take what we’ve been learning in the centre and see it in real life. We are very invested in the history of Belfast at the minute! 😂

After all that learning, we definitely deserved some lunch! We headed to The Chester for a bite to eat before making our way up to Belfast Castle.
We had a lovely wander around the castle and grounds, taking in the views, exploring the gardens and enjoying some fresh air together.

Almost the weekend! 💜

Mr Murray was in full swing this morning… just for old times’ sake! 🤣

As part of our weekly learning topic, we’ve been learning all about Northern Ireland and our wee country!
We’ve covered the landmarks, famous people, history and, of course, the food! Today we zoned in on Crumlin Road Gaol, as that’s where we’re heading on our trip out this week!
Loads of learning, loads of questions and some great teamwork as we worked together to figure out the answers for our fact sheet! 📚💜

And Tuesday isn’t Tuesday without a visit from Jordan and Madi at Savage Martial Arts-East / South Belfast🥋

The improvement week by week is amazing, and we’re looking forward to working towards our belts! The best bit though? The craic! 🤣
Well done to Daryl, who was Student of the Week this week! 👏🏻💜

And a huge shout out to the amazing Dot from Teamdot presents. 😀
It’s her 75th birthday today, so it was lovely to gift her some flowers from all of us at Laso. She is such an amazing lady, and the world is definitely a better place with her in it! 💜

As part of Caleb’s Cause, we’d love to hear from dads about their experiences of raising a disabled child as they grow into a young person or adult.

What is it really like being a dad?
What challenges have you faced?
What has surprised you?
What support has helped or has been missing?

And how has your role as a dad changed as your child has grown older?

We want to hear the honest experiences, the good, the difficult and everything in between.

Baking, boccia and puzzles! 💜

We were delighted to see Davy back today from Disability Sports NI for boccia! The blues were the winners, much to Daryl’s disappointment 😂 He says he’s warming up for next week though! 😜

Then it was time for some baking! Chocolate cake and custard, the perfect sweet treat after lunch! 🍫🍰

The gang are absolutely loving puzzles at the minute! We have lots of puzzles here, so if anyone fancies doing a wee puzzle swap, send us a message! 🧩

We are collecting toys and non perishable food items for TeamDot’s Christmas Drive, and we would love your help!

Next time you’re doing your weekly shop, could you add an extra toy or voucher for a child aged 0 to 18, or an extra tin of peas, carrots or other non perishable food to your trolley?

These toys and food items are distributed throughout our community to families and individuals who need a little extra help at Christmas.

There are no questions asked. Just love, respect and dignity ❤️
