I am a sucker for a good herb & seed delivery so here is a beautiful ✨️haul✨️ from

Curious what are some of the ingredients I use in postpartum? After busy few weeks with multiple clients my pantry & jars grew empty and were due a restock for next mamas 🙏🏻

Now time for my favourite thing to do... refilling jars.

And it is AI. I see more and more people leaning into the convenience of ChatGPT, having not only their images and posters but even captions generated by it. And this is something I refuse to do.

Reading Instagram posts of late feels like watching Black Mirror. Points may be coming across but personalities, souls and human touch are fading away.

Yes, it is convenient, efficient and designed to support the META machine. But what I'd rather support is humans, organic connection, authenticity and trust.

I want you to see my imperfect captions.
I want you to see my awkward phrasing and perhaps notice that I am not British.
I want you to feel into what I am saying and maybe resonate with you.
I want us to connect over shared human experience and not "perfected" expression of a computer's hard drive.

And I want to make sure that what I do does not affect the work of others. That it doesn't affect creators, artists, teachers, writers, musicians. That it doesn't affect the Earth. And that it builds connections, not breaks them.

And maybe this means I will have to spend more time writing a post. Or maybe it means I won't get as high of an engagement. But at least it means communication threads and connections I build stem from my authentic expression.

With love 🤍

If you you're a mama who practiced confinement in postpartum, you'll get this one.

You birth your baby, excitedly entering the period of rest & bonding. You were prepared. And you feel like you're recovering quickly.

You spend time in bed. One day, two, three. Endless cuddles, steady flow of oxytocin. Maybe you read a book. Or watch your favourite film.

And then another day comes and you do it all again. And again. And again.

Feeling almost "too" rested. Longing for the outside. Thinking "I feel good, ready to get back to my life". You start feeling bored, restless even.

And you start wondering - maybe I am well enough to get back to my tasks, chores and outings.

But here is the truth about postpartum confinement: its length and timing are not random.

Postpartum confinement covers the time of the strongest hormonal shifts. They don't happen overnight. And they're not linear. Heightened oxytocin & endorphins in the first moments postpartum can easily give an illusion of a speedy recovery. But afterwards, hormones drop and shift for many weeks until they stabilise. And if we don't thread gently, we can experience a significant setback in the recovery. Postpartum confinement is designed to support hormonal rebalancing, physical recovery and breastfeeding until our bodies, minds and babies are ready to move on.

The confinement is not easy. As much as we usually enjoy the idea of rest, in this day and age, the majority of us is out of touch with it.
The world around us demands speed, efficiency, convenience and productivity.
And spending time with your baby in bed, drinking a cup of slow cooked bone broth does not seem productive, nor convenient. At least that's a signal we get from our nervous system, that has long forgotten how to be slow and intentional.

That is why, building a relationship with rest should be a part of effective postpartum preparation.

So when we are met with boredom, we can welcome it and continue recovery rather than jump into chores & tasks.

Just some of my favourite spices to use when tending to mamas after childbirth. And also when tending to myself, and my family when one of us needs the support. Those are the ones I always have in my pantry.

What were your favourite spices in postpartum?

Note: herbs and seeds are powerful & need to be used with caution, taking into consideration personal circumstances & possible contraindications. When using medicinal doses, consult your health provider. 🙏🏻

Might be late to the trend but hey, a few things to be SUPER PROUD OF.
As a mom, a friend and a postnatal doula, a few topics come up frequently - home/work balance in motherhood, birth choices, baby skin, and co-sleeping. What they all have in common is - they made me feel quite hopeless at times, until I followed my gut, did the right research, found alternative routes or middle-grounds, and took the next step.
I had birth that I was told I couldn't have.
I healed my daughter's eczema using diet & herbal medicine (under the guidance of a medical herbalist).
I've slept with my baby since birth till now, and counting.
I heard a call to work with mothers and answered.
I left a good, stable job that brought security.
And well, I am here.
Kinds chic, innit?
