Reiki, Coaching and the Eye Roll

I am a coach. I am also a reiki practitioner and a workplace culture expert. The latter usually gets a raised eyebrow and some lean forward of interest. The other two - not so much.

It's funny how resistant people seem to be to these 2 things. I do understand if you have never experienced the incredible shifts and life changing things that can happen when you meet a great practitioner. It isn't understood in our regular culture and that makes it anxiety provoking. With anxiety comes defenses.

I know that my Coaching and Reiki work is transformative - not because I say so, but because my clients do.

The Presenting Issue is Never the Real Issue

Being able to cut through the noise and see what is actually going on is a specialist skill. I am regularly credited with being able to get to the root of an issue when I work with my clients. Whether these clients are individuals for coaching or organisations in trouble, I'm always working in the same way and I'm always asking

What an incredible offer from Dragonfly therapist - silent retreats sound a bit scary but are the most amazing opportunity to spend time reflecting. Something we definitely don't do enough of.

Vanessa is such a expert and calm individual who will be able to hold the space with safety and great skill.

I attended this event last Friday morning and what a privilege it was.

I was there as a quiet observer to see how I could support and contribute to the wonderful work Sam is doing for women affected by breast cancer in the local area and more widely through her incredible Cups & Courage The Podcast and I was honoured to be invited to stay with the group.

These spaces are so important for individuals to share their journeys, their fears, their confusion, their truths. Each woman there was at a very different stage of their breast cancer journey and it was so inspiring to see the immediate help and support that was provided by each person for the other.

I look forward to being part of this important offering to the local community and beyond.

Death and Dying

We don't like to talk about it, particularly in our Western culture where we generally avoid vulnerabiity. So we certainly don't want to acknowledge the greatest of them all.

Even in written form it can look menacing, confronting, anxiety provoking.

Yet, as we know, it will touch us all throughout our lives and eventually become part of our own story.

I have provided Reiki for those going through end of life care and helped to bring peace, reduce anxiety and assist with pain relief

I have coached individuals with terminal diagnoses holding the space robustly in a way that they needed. Sometimes to talk, sometimes to reflect, sometimes to cry. This is not about what we want our life to look like but instead, how can we make our death as good as it can be for us and those around us. Often this is by talking about it, expressing our needs and sharing our fears.

Although this work carries with it great sadness, it is also a great privilege and I have always felt truly honoured to be part of this journey with these individuals.
