Your mat is not a comparison chart
Somewhere in most classes, a thought creeps in. Am I doing this right. Is everyone else finding this easier. Are they looking at me, or am I looking at them.
None of it is really about the pose.
Every practice in that room looks different, and it's meant to. Different bodies, different histories, different days. What looks effortless for someone else might be the hardest thing they do all week, and what feels like a struggle for you might be exactly where you need to be.
Yoga isn't a line-up. It's not asking you to match anyone. The only practice worth measuring yourself against is the one you had last time you rolled out your own mat.
So next time that thought shows up, let it pass through, and come back to your own breath.
